Your Dentist and Dental Hygienist recommend alignment of the teeth ONLY to help maintain proper function. If teeth are not proper aligned it can cause:

Dental Hygienists are NOT just tooth cleaners. Key responsibilities include:

🦷 Review patient MEDICAL HISTORY to ensure safety while dental cleanings are being performed. We know it can be repetitive being asked the same questions every visit, but we can assure you it is always for good reason

🦷 Perform ORAL CANCER SCREENINGS. This involves full evaluation of the soft tissues in the head and neck. As dental hygienists we can screen and catch abnormal growths early to aid in prompt treatments.

🦷PERIODONTAL CHARTING is essential in properly treating our patients. It helps our hygienists take care of your teeth and gums to try and prevent premature tooth loss. It determines: type of cleaning, bone loss between roots of teeth, mobility and if your gum recession is progressing.

🦷PLAQUE & TARTAR REMOVAL aids in proper prevention of gingivitis, periodontal disease, tooth decay and premature tooth loss.

Cleaning teeth is a vital part of your dental hygiene appointment, but surely isn’t the only reason they are important.

🦷 Cleaning the bacteria from your tongue decreases the amount of bad bacteria in your mouth

🦷 Helps remove the bacteria that causes bad breath

🦷 Removes the gunk that causes your tongue to be white, brown or black.
