CONGRATULATIONS, MAZ!! BRACES OFF! 🔥🦷🥶

But today, we’re celebrating more than a beautiful smile—we’re sharing a little orthodontic wisdom! 🦷📚🤓

When Maz was younger, he experienced dental trauma that fractured a tooth. Our mission was to align his teeth and create a healthy, confident smile. And as you can see, the teeth are looking GREAT! 🙌🏾✨

However, there’s more to a textbook smile than straight teeth! 👀 Notice that the gum line (gingival margins) isn’t perfectly aligned? This is where we explain the limitations of orthodontics and the importance of TEAMWORK! 🤝🏾

Our next step? Referring Maz to our periodontist—the gum doctors—who can evaluate his gum levels and help us determine how to achieve an even more refined, harmonious finish. 🦷💯

Because creating beautiful smiles sometimes takes a village, and we believe in bringing the right specialists together to deliver the best possible results!

It’s truly surreal. 🥹🙏🏽

Five years ago, I was sitting in my car in Orlando during my usual lunch break routine. I was content, but not fulfilled. So, I started doom-scrolling, searching for dental offices for sale in Miami. And guess what? The only one I came across was right in my hometown of North Miami… don’t forget the Beach! 🌴😂❤️💙🦷

Tell me God isn’t intentional! 🙌🏽💯

God is able. He has a way of showing you things when you least expect them. Sometimes, all you need is faith, the courage to take that first step, and the willingness to trust His plan. 🙏🏽

Fast-forward five years, and look at what God has done! We’re expanding our mission to help all of Miami SMILE MORE CONFIDENTLY! 😬🦷🚀

Not just with braces and Invisalign anymore, but now with something especially close to my heart: OUR KIDS. OUR FUTURE. OUR PURPOSE. ❤️👸🏻🤴🏾👶🏼👶🏿

From orthodontics to pediatric dentistry, we’re growing so we can serve more families, invest in our community, and make a difference for generations to come.

Every day is a learning experience as we navigate this journey called life. But if I’m being honest, I learn the most from my patients. ❤️🤗

Sometimes I feel like everyone knows Esteem, knows me, and knows what we’re about. So when someone is hesitant or reluctant to meet us, I’m like… “How dare you?!”🤨🧐🙄

But this past week, I had the pleasure of meeting Vanessa.

Vanessa came in a little hesitant because of previous negative experiences with dentists and past trauma. And I completely understood. But what was most rewarding and fulfilling was watching the transformation happen in just ONE 20-minute consultation. 😊

The room went from guarded and abrasive… to emotional… to nonstop laughter and smiles. 😭😂❤️ And by the end, Vanessa was comfortable enough to open up and share her experiences with us. 🎤🎥

THAT is what healthcare is about. 🧑🏼‍⚕️👩🏾‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️

It’s not just about teeth. It’s about trust. It’s about listening. It’s about creating a safe space where people feel seen, heard, respected, and cared for. ♾️🫶

And what better day to share this testimony than Testimony Sunday! 🙏

It’s FRIYEAHHHH!! 🎉🙏 And what better way to celebrate another amazing week than to finally let the cat out the bag! 🐈🚨

After 5️⃣ incredible years of providing orthodontic care to our amazing South Florida family, we’re excited to announce that WE’RE EXPANDING! 🦷✨

We’re officially expanding our services to include KIDS DENTISTRY! 🦷🪥👶🏽👶🏻👶🏼

From 6 months all the way through age 18, we’ll now be able to care for even more of your family’s dental needs because healthy smiles start early! 🥰🦷

We are SO grateful that we made the decision to come back home, because home is where the heart is. ❤️ And being able to serve the community that helped shape us is truly a blessing. 💯

Something that’s commonly confused, and trust me, patients, you are NOT the only ones! 😂

Today, we’re talking about overbites 😬🦷.

An overbite refers to the vertical overlap of the upper front teeth over the lower front teeth when you bite down.

But here’s where it gets confusing 🤨🧐

🦷 Open bites occur when the upper and lower teeth don’t overlap properly, leaving an opening when you bite down. They may affect how you bite into food and can influence speech and chewing patterns.

😬 Deep bites occur when the upper front teeth overlap the lower teeth excessively. In some cases, this can contribute to excessive contact forces and increased wear on certain teeth.

That’s why at Esteem, we don’t just look at whether your teeth are “straight.” We look at your bite, function, facial balance, and overall smile.
