A MISSING TOOTH IS MORE THAN JUST A GAP.

When a tooth is lost, the jawbone in that area no longer receives the stimulation it needs. Over time, this can lead to bone resorption, gum changes, shifting teeth, and changes in facial support.

The good news? Replacing a missing tooth early can help protect your jawbone, smile, and long-term oral function. ✨

👀 CAN’T SEE IT? THAT’S WHY WE TAKE X-RAYS. 🦷

Some dental problems hide beneath the surface. X-rays help your dentist spot cavities, infections, bone loss, impacted teeth, and other concerns early before they become bigger problems.

Ever wonder why your dentist keeps recommending fluoride toothpaste?

It’s because fluoride does more than make your teeth feel clean, it helps prevent cavities, strengthen enamel, and support the repair of early enamel damage. 🦷✨

And the evidence backs it up. A Cochrane systematic review of 96 studies found that fluoride toothpaste reduces tooth decay compared with non-fluoride toothpaste, with stronger evidence for commonly used fluoride concentrations.

🧠🦷 YOUR GUM HEALTH MAY MATTER TO YOUR BRAIN HEALTH, TOO.

A large U.S. study that followed more than 6,000 adults for up to 26 years found that older adults with gum disease and signs of oral bacterial infection were more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia over time.

Researchers also found that antibodies against Porphyromonas gingivalis, a major bacterium linked to gum disease, were associated with a higher risk of Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s-related deaths in adults 65 and older.

⚠️ Important: This study found an association—not proof that gum disease causes dementia. More research is needed to determine whether treating these infections could help reduce dementia risk or slow its progression.

🦷 The takeaway: Healthy gums are about more than your smile. If you notice bleeding, swelling, tenderness, or other gum problems, don’t ignore them. Schedule your dental checkup!

🚨 YOUR GUMS COULD BE AFFECTING MORE THAN YOUR SMILE! 🦷❤️

New research suggests that Porphyromonas gingivalis, a bacteria associated with gum disease, can enter the bloodstream and reach the heart. Researchers found that the bacteria was associated with increased atrial fibrosis and a greater susceptibility to atrial fibrillation (AFib)—an irregular heart rhythm.

Your oral health is connected to your overall health. ❤️

🪥 Brush twice a day
🧵 Floss daily
🦷 Keep up with regular dental visits
🩺 Don’t ignore bleeding or swollen gums

Healthy gums are worth taking seriously.
