We are thrilled to announce the re-opening of our clinic, Smiles Family Dentistry on May 8th 2020.

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing at Smiles Family Dentistry has remained the same: our constant commitment to your safety.

As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our strict processes have consistently made the care you receive at Smiles Family Dentistry both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

When it is time for your next appointment, you may see some changes along with our already strict infection control protocols. For example:
Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
When entering the office, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer which we will supply. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
You may see that our reception area will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and other items which cannot be properly disinfected. You are encouraged to bring your own iPad, reading materials, etc. If you'd like you can bring your own pen to sign forms, we will have plenty of one time use pens available as well.

Should you choose, you may wait in your car and be texted when we are ready to bring you directly to the treatment area.
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered slightly limited options for scheduling your appointment.
We will do our best to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 713-344-0498, visit our website at www.smilesfamilydentistry.com or email us at [email protected]

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends in the safest way possible.

"Our response to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)"

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff, and community. Due to recommendations from the American Dental Association & the White House we have decided to do our part to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19 to our team and our wonderful patients. To that end, we have decided to postpone all non-emergency treatment from March 18th – April 1st, 2020.
As health care professionals, we believe we have a role to play in "flattening the curve" in order to follow the sound, scientific public health advice to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus. Our office will be closely reviewing our appointment schedule. If you have a non-urgent appointment scheduled with us this week, our office will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment.
There will be a doctor on call in the event of a dental emergency. Should you require emergency dental care, please call our office as you normally would at (713)-344-0498 and our staff will get in touch with you.
We did not make this decision lightly. A great deal of care, research, and planning guided our decision. We believe that by taking these extraordinary precautions, we can make a difference in helping to preserve the limited supply of personal protective equipment critical for emergency dental care and frontline health care personnel responding to the pandemic. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves and determine when it is appropriate for us to return to our normal business hours.
Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our dental team, and the community in mind.
Please stay safe, healthy and God Bless Everyone!!!

Sincerely,
Smiles Family Dentistry

To all our valued patients,
Due to recent Coronavirus concern we wanted to inform everyone that we follow all universal precautions. All dental rooms are wiped down fully on all surfaces between every patient with disinfecting wipes, plastic barriers are placed where appropriate, and all instruments sterilized in an autoclave. The entire office is cleaned daily and waiting area is wiped down with disinfectant wipes throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is at our front desk for all patients and staff, everyone washes their hands between every single patient several times a day with antibacterial soap. We do ask if you are ill to please cancel your appointment and follow your doctor's orders. Please keep us updated of any diagnosis you have so we can protect our staff and other patients .We plan on staying open to serve you otherwise mandated. Thank you for understanding and we assure you we are doing everything we can to make sure our office is safe for everyone.

Sincerely,
Dr Hifza Elahi
