What's on the plate matters just as much as what's in the toothbrush!

Crunchy fruits and veggies like apples and celery naturally help clean teeth as kids chew, while cheese and yogurt deliver calcium that strengthens enamel.

On World Food Day, the Happy Chompers crew is cheering for colorful plates and strong smiles all around.

Your child's tooth enamel is the hard outer layer protecting the tooth. Unlike skin, enamel doesn't regenerate once it's lost.

However, early mineral loss can sometimes be strengthened through saliva and fluoride.

That's why prevention and early management of tooth decay are so important.

Thumb-sucking and pacifier use are totally normal for little ones, and most kids naturally stop between ages 2 and 4 without any intervention needed.

AAPD notes that habits lasting past age 4, especially once permanent teeth start coming in, are worth chatting about at a checkup, since prolonged habits can affect how teeth and the jaw develop.

No stress, just something to keep an eye on!
