I sometimes hesitate to post pictures like this, because this isn’t the normal….”I got veneers” case. This is all hand-sculpted - in the chair.
These are NOT veneers. At least not in the traditional ceramic aspect of Hollywood…not made in a lab.
We didn’t shave down her teeth. In fact, this is the reason why this patient sought me out. This is simply cosmetic composite bonding. Her natural teeth were not altered. She never had any anesthesia.
‼️What is bonding?
Bonding is using adhesives to add composite dental filling material to natural tooth structure. Usually to fill in gaps, or in this case, reduce translucency and add to a more “prominent” or bold shape.
‼️What did we do?
I added several layers of opaquer to her teeth, in subsequent layers. White, pink, white. Cosmedent kit. Then warmed bleach shade composite (Renamel) and polished, polished, polished. We used Bioclear matrices (for my dental friends!) to close the embrasures/gaps and change the shapes.
‼️Why not just get traditional veneers?
That was *this* patient’s preference. There are pros and cons to EVERY type of dental procedure But these variables are minimalized with the right clinican and care All of these are patient-dependent.
Thanks to one of my mentors for giving me the courage share.
We will be doing some contouring in the future, but I’m so happy that the patient was thrilled with the result!! 🦷❤️
Thank you to all my friends and dentists who refer these cases to me!!
