Today we're celebrating the heart of Family Dental Care—our incredible Office Manager and the very first employee to join our team! If you've ever visited our office, chances are you've met Dawn. She's often called the "Face of Family Dental Care," and for good reason. Her kindness, warmth, and dedication have helped shape who we are from the very beginning.

Dawn is truly one of a kind. She's an amazing mom, the best dog mom around, and someone who makes every member of our Family Dental Care team feel supported, appreciated, and loved. Simply put... she's the absolute best.

When she's not keeping our office running smoothly, you'll likely find Dawn and her husband searching for hidden treasures at antique shops and estate sales. Honestly, with the incredible finds she brings home, we're convinced HGTV needs to give her and her husband their own antique hunting show! 😉🏺✨

Dawn, thank you for your years of hard work, your endless compassion, your contagious smile, and for being the person everyone can count on. We are so lucky to have you as part of our family.

Dental health reasons to quit on World No To***co Day (May 31)

Smoking can seriously affect your teeth, gums, and mouth. Whether it’s ci******es, ho**ahs, or vapes, to***co products can damage your oral and overall health.

Smoking stains teeth yellow or brown, causes chronic bad breath, and reduces your sense of taste and smell. It also lowers saliva flow, allowing cavity-causing bacteria to grow more easily.

To***co chemicals irritate the gums and can lead to gingivitis, causing swollen, painful, or bleeding gums. Over time, gums may pull away from teeth, creating pockets where infection develops. Severe gum disease can damage the bone and tissue supporting your teeth, leading to loose or missing teeth. Smokers are more than twice as likely to lose all their teeth compared to non-smokers.

Smoking is also linked to serious health conditions, including mouth, throat, tongue, and jaw cancers, as well as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and dementia.

Ho**ah smoking is not safer than ci******es. Research shows it is associated with gum disease, cancers, and other serious conditions. Experts estimate one ho**ah session may expose users to as much smoke as 100 ci******es.

Va**ng is not harmless either. Although e-ci******es contain fewer chemicals than ci******es, they often include ni****ne, THC, heavy metals, carcinogens, and sugary flavorings that contribute to tooth decay. Ni****ne is highly addictive and especially harmful to developing brains.

The best way to protect your dental and overall health is to quit smoking. Free resources are available at smokefree.gov or by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW. Your dentist can also provide support and guidance to help you quit successfully.
