We’re excited to introduce you to Dr. Tanner Neeland! Dr. Neeland hails from Great Bend, Kansas, and has been proudly practicing with APN Dental for the past five years!

Fun fact: dentistry runs in the family! His wife, Brianna, is also in the dental field and practices as an orthodontist in nearby Lee’s Summit. Together, they have a two-year-old son who keeps life busy, exciting, and full of adventure! ❤️

Bleeding Gums Aren’t Normal—They’re Your Body’s Warning Sign

If your gums bleed when you brush or floss, it’s easy to think, “It happens every time, so it must be normal.” The truth is, healthy gums shouldn’t bleed.

The most common cause is gingivitis, the earliest stage of gum disease. The good news? When caught early, it’s often reversible with proper oral hygiene and routine dental cleanings. If not caught early, this can turn to periodontal disease, which can lead to loose teeth and early tooth loss.

Here are a few things you can do:
🪥 Brush twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
🦷 Floss every day—even if your gums bleed at first.
💧 Stay consistent with your routine.
📅 Keep up with regular dental checkups and cleanings.

If your gums continue to bleed, don’t ignore it. A simple exam can help identify the cause before it becomes a bigger problem.
