Sometimes the part of a dental visit kids remember most has absolutely nothing to do with teeth. 😂

The prize they picked. The sunglasses they wore. The movie they watched. The person who made them laugh.

Those little things matter to us. If a trip to the dentist can end with a smile and a story they’re excited to tell, we’ll take that as a win. 🤠

Low 90s.. it's almost fall, right? 😆 Fall allergies can mean more than sniffles and stuffy noses. 🍂

When kids are congested, they may breathe through their mouth more often, especially while sleeping. That can lead to dry mouth, and less saliva means less of the natural protection that helps keep teeth clean.

If allergies have your child mouth-breathing lately, keep the water bottle handy and make sure brushing and flossing don’t get lost in the shuffle.

Ranch Roundup: When should my child start flossing?

You don’t have to wait for a certain age. Once two teeth are touching, a toothbrush can’t fully clean between them anymore. That’s when it’s time to start flossing those spots. And yes, parents will probably need to be the official family flossers for a while!

Take a look at your child’s toothbrush tonight. 👀 If the bristles are starting to look like they’ve had a rough few months, they probably have. Toothbrushes should generally be replaced every 3–4 months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. And after certain illnesses, swapping it out for a fresh one isn’t a bad idea either. 🪥
