β¨ Transformation Tuesday β¨
This smile transformation required more than just straightening teeth, it required creating the right amount of space for everything to fit beautifully and function properly.
Before treatment:
π¦· Impacted upper canine (stuck in the bone and unable to erupt normally)
π¦· Significant upper crowding
π¦· Bite discrepancy with protrusive upper teeth
π¦· Limited space for proper alignment
π€ Why were two upper premolars removed?
When teeth are crowded, orthodontists have several options to create space. In Sydneyβs case, simply expanding the arches or moving teeth outward would not have provided the most stable or esthetic result.
By removing two upper premolars, we were able to:
β
Create room for the impacted canine to move into its proper position
β
Correct the crowding without pushing teeth outside the supporting bone
β
Improve the bite relationship
β
Reduce the prominence of the upper teeth and lips
β
Achieve a balanced, healthy smile that will be more stable long-term
The result? π
A confident smile, healthy bite, properly positioned canine, and excellent alignmentβall while maintaining facial balance and supporting long-term stability.
