in Johns Creek. Chris Sholota graduated from the University of West Virginia in 1983 and has been practicing dentistry in the Atlanta area for 25 years. Dr. Sholota has continued his dental education and has attended several advanced dental institutes, receiving training from the leading teachers in dentistry. These institutes include: Studied in Brazil "Mastering Cosmetic Bonding" with Newton Fahl; The KOIS Center in Seattle; The Pankey Institute for Advanced Learning; Pacific University's PAC Live - one of the country's leading centers for advanced cosmetic restorative dentistry; Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Learning; and the Cosmodent's Center of Excellence for Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Sholota has also published an article in the Spectrum Dialogue. This was a fun case with a little challenge. Tooth #9 has always returned to this position after multiple rounds of ortho, ligament fibrotomy, a new crown…. you name it. Nothing worked. After reviewing this tooth’s history, we decided it would be best to let this tooth stay in the position it wants to be in. Instead, we would do a new crown and add pink porcelain to give the illusion that #9 is aligned properly. A combination of crowns and veneers gave this patient the white & straight smile she’s always wanted.

Simple gum re-contouring made a huge difference for this patient’s smile. She always felt that her teeth were too small, so we took measurements to determine how much hidden tooth could be uncovered. Electrosurgery was used to reshape the gums and to uncover the smile that this patient always dreamed of. Seeing a patient ecstatic about their smile is what it’s all about!

Recently completed this rewarding case. This patient came to me to take over an in-progress esthetic case. Their goal was to achieve a natural looking smile that is reminiscent of their original smile. We used historical photographs and old dental models to bring their smile back to life. A combination of gum tailoring, crowns, and veneers were used to accomplish the outcome.
