If you have veneers (or are getting them soon), bookmark this one.
Most veneers don't fail because of the veneers. They fail because the daily routine drifts. Done well, porcelain veneers can hold up beautifully for 10 to 15 years, and often much longer when you care for them right. 3D printed veneers last 5 to 7. The difference is almost always at home.
Here are the five habits we coach every veneer patient through:
1. Soft-bristle brush, non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste, twice a day. No gritty whitening pastes.
2. Floss first. Waterpik with a splash of xylitol second. Brush last.
3. Treat them like teeth, only better. No biting ice. No opening packages with your teeth. No nail biting.
4. If you grind at night, wear your guard. Nighttime clenching is the number-one reason veneers chip.
5. See us every 3 to 6 months for a polish, a margin check, and a quick reseal of anything starting to lift.
We see veneer patients across Jersey City and Hoboken every week. If your smile is something you invested in, protect it like one.
Ready when you are.
