Phase 1 —> Phase 2!

Due to a compromised lateral tooth we placed a lingual bond to help give it stability once treatment was done. This is the small metal piece that is bonded on the inside. You can not see it when you smile ☺️

We are so proud of this young lady for wearing her retainer consistently since she got her braces off a few years ago. 🙌
Once your braces come off and your teeth have settled in your retainer for a few months; you only have to wear your retainer during the night!😴

(Always remember to take your retainer out when you are going to eat/drink or brush your teeth🪥)

Ever wondered why the Dentist or Orthodontist needs you to remove your jewelry before a Radiograph?

No, not to annoy you 🤣

1- The piercing can obscure vision for the doctor while doing a routine check up (cavities/abnormalities or tooth positioning)
2- GHOST IMAGE 👻 this goes along with obscuring the dentists view- not only the jewelry itself but what is called a “ghost image” can form and distort the image. A ghost image is a distorted copy image of the jewelry that can show up spread over the X-ray. Here we have circled some of the examples of jewelry and 👻 images that have shown up on our radiographs!
