🦷📸 **DID YOU KNOW THERE’S MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF DENTAL X-RAY?!** 📸🦷
At **Limestone Dentistry**, we use different types of dental X-rays depending on what we need to see. Each one gives us a different view of your mouth and helps us provide the best care possible! 🦷✨
Here’s a quick breakdown:
🔎 **FMX – Full Mouth Series**
A **FMX** is a complete series of X-rays that gives us a detailed look at all of your teeth. We use these to evaluate the teeth, roots, bone levels, and areas between the teeth that we can’t see during a regular exam.
🦷 **PANO – Panoramic X-Ray**
A **panoramic X-ray** captures a broad view of your entire mouth in one image! It allows us to see the upper and lower jaws, teeth, jaw joints, and surrounding structures. It can be especially helpful when evaluating wisdom teeth, developing teeth, and overall jaw structure.
😁 **BWX – Bitewing X-Rays**
**Bitewings** are the small X-rays you may be familiar with from your regular checkups. They are excellent for detecting **cavities between the teeth** and checking the bone levels around your teeth.
🔬 **CBCT – 3D Imaging**
A **CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)** creates a **3D image** of your teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. This gives us much more detailed information when we need to evaluate things such as implants, impacted teeth, complex dental conditions, or certain areas of the jaw.
💡 **Why do we need different X-rays?**
Think of it like taking pictures from different angles! 📸 Each type of X-ray gives us different information, allowing us to see what we **can't see with our eyes alone.**
At Limestone Dentistry, we use the appropriate imaging based on each patient's individual needs—not every patient needs every type of X-ray. ❤️
🦷 **Healthy smiles start with seeing the whole picture!**
