🎒✨ BACK TO SCHOOL! ✨🎒
We are so thankful for the time we’ve had with Miyah at the front desk! 💙 She has been incredibly helpful, dependable, and such a joy to have around. Even on the days when the job may have felt a little boring, she always stuck with it, gave her best, and showed up with a great attitude.

While we’re definitely sad to see her go, we couldn’t be more excited for her as she heads back to nursing school for her 2nd year! 🩺📚

Miyah is an Honor Student with a heart for helping others, and we know she is going to make a difference in so many lives. We’re so proud of her and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes!

Thank you for everything, Miyah! 💙 We’ll miss you and are cheering you on every step of the way! 🎓🩺✨

A tongue piercing may seem like a simple form of self-expression, but it can also affect oral health in ways many people don't expect.

Every time the metal jewelry contacts the teeth, it can place repeated stress on the enamel. Over months or years, this may increase the risk of chipped or cracked teeth, enamel wear, gum recession, and irritation of the surrounding soft tissues. Because the mouth naturally contains hundreds of species of bacteria, a fresh piercing also creates an opportunity for infection—especially if proper aftercare is not followed.

A 2025 scientific literature review found consistent evidence linking tongue piercings to complications such as tooth fractures, enamel damage, gingival recession, infections, and other oral problems. The American Dental Association (ADA) also advises against cosmetic oral piercings because the potential health risks outweigh the cosmetic benefits.

Many people wear tongue jewelry without experiencing major problems, but understanding the possible risks can help in making an informed decision and recognizing complications early.

A tooth infection doesn't just affect the tooth.

Research found that successfully treating apical periodontitis with root canal therapy was associated with improvements in blood sugar regulation, glucose levels, and lipid metabolism over a two-year follow-up.

Chronic tooth infections can trigger persistent low-grade inflammation, allowing inflammatory signals to circulate throughout the body. As the infection resolved, researchers observed improvements in metabolic biomarkers linked to cardiovascular health.

While root canal treatment is performed to eliminate infection and save a tooth, these findings add to growing evidence that treating oral disease may also support overall systemic health.
