You chip a tooth on a Tuesday and the dentist tells you to come back in two weeks for the crown. Now you're walking around with a temporary for half a month, hoping it doesn't pop off at dinner.

That's not how we do it. Same-day CEREC crowns means we scan the tooth, mill the crown in-house, and you leave with it done, not a temporary, not a second trip, not two more weeks of being careful what you bite into.

It's the same standard behind every visit here:
"The entire team is fantastic! Friendly and professional," - Lynn Payne
"In a nutshell he is the best," - Susan Johnston.
"They were compassionate and friendly, helping me through it and making it feel like a safe space," - Bobbi Robson Mullins.

If you're dealing with a cracked or failing tooth right now, call (904) 620-9225 and ask about same-day crowns. One visit, one trip, done.

Ever wonder why your hygienist calls out random numbers during your cleaning?

Those numbers are your gum pocket depths, measured in millimeters around every tooth. 1 to 3 means healthy gums. 4 to 5 usually means early gum disease, something we can still turn around with a deeper cleaning. 6 or higher means it’s moved into periodontitis, where the bone underneath is at risk.

That’s why Minda calls them out one by one, she’s not filling silence, she’s tracking your gum health in real time. Next time you hear a string of threes, that’s a good thing.

This is part of a series decoding everything we say that nobody ever explains. Save this one, and follow along for the rest.

You've probably been snacking all wrong for your teeth. These are the 5 best foods for a healthy smile, and the one at the top surprises people.

5. Cheese and dairy: calcium and phosphate help rebuild the minerals in your enamel.

4. Crunchy vegetables like celery and carrots: more chewing means more saliva, your mouth's natural defense.

3. Leafy greens: high in calcium and folic acid, low in the sugar that feeds cavity-causing bacteria.

2. Plain yogurt: same calcium benefit as cheese, plus probiotics that support a healthier balance of bacteria.

1. Water, especially fluoridated tap water: it rinses away food particles between brushings and it's the easiest habit on this list.

My top pick is water, it works around everything else here. Which one are you adding to your routine?

The floss that shreds in the same spot. The zing when ice water hits one tooth. A rough patch your tongue keeps finding.

These are the 5 warning signs of a cavity you need to watch out for. Don't ignore number 1.

I've seen these signs get brushed off for months, and catching them early is always the easier fix.

1. Sharp pain that lingers after hot or cold. Decay may be close to the nerve. This one needs an appointment soon.

2. A rough or soft spot you can feel with your tongue. Don't wait for pain, that comes later.

3. Floss that keeps catching in the same spot. Possible decay between teeth. Mention it even if nothing hurts.

4. A visible dark spot on the tooth. Decay has already broken the enamel surface. It won't fix itself.

5. A dull ache after something sweet or cold. This means early enamel breakdown. Get it checked before it lingers.

Call Dr. Drew & crew at (904) 620-9225 or visit rappdental.com if any of this sounds familiar. Don't let cavities destroy you're teeth!

Do you actually need a nightguard, or is that just something dentists say?

If you wake up with a sore jaw or a headache, or your partner mentions you grind your teeth at night? A nightguard is worth asking about. Left untreated, grinding can wear down and even crack teeth over time.

Your body already knows how to heal. We just help it do what it does best.

Introducing PRF — Platelet-Rich Fibrin, a natural regenerative tool we can use in dentistry to support your body’s own healing process.

PRF is made from a small sample of your own blood and contains platelets, fibrin, and naturally occurring growth factors that can help support tissue healing and regeneration.

From tooth extractions and implant procedures to gum and bone healing, PRF can be incorporated into certain treatments to support a smoother, more natural healing process. 🦷

No synthetic growth factors. No foreign materials. Just your body’s own healing potential.

At Dr. Drew’s, we’re always looking for ways to make dentistry more comfortable, innovative, and biologically focused.

Your body has the blueprint. We help activate it.

Did you know there are 4 main types of teeth stains? Let me break them down so you know which one you're dealing with.

I explain this to patients constantly, because the fix is different depending on the type.
Type 1, surface stains: from coffee, tea, and red w**e, sit on the outer enamel, usually the easiest to treat.
Type 2, age-related: enamel naturally thins over time, revealing the yellower dentin underneath.
Type 3, trauma-related: a single tooth darkens after an injury, you'll notice it's just one tooth, not the whole smile.
Type 4, internal or medication-related: caused by certain antibiotics during tooth development or too much fluoride as a child, shows up as gray or banded staining that whitening alone won't fully fix.
Which type do you think you have?

Ask about a whitening consult, call (904) 620-9225.
