I’m excited to invite pastors, associate pastors, deacons, church leadership teams, ministry leaders, and church associations from across West Tennessee to an impactful Faith-Based Education & Resource Workshop in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

One thing I promised was that I would help bring resources to our nonprofits and local churches — and after having the opportunity to meet with the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives, I’m excited to help connect our churches with valuable information and opportunities.

This workshop is designed to help churches learn more about resources and funding opportunities for:

- Youth programs
- Food pantries and food drives
- Housing and community development
- Church building repairs and facility needs
- New ministry initiatives
- Community outreach programs
- Partnerships and statewide resources

Date: September 25
Location: Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church
Dyersburg, TN
Lunch will be provided.

On June 11, 2026, Helping Hands of Middle West Tennessee proudly celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of our 3-D Dental Pre-Apprenticeship Program. This groundbreaking program is approved by the Tennessee Office of Apprenticeship and funded through the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Tennessee Department of Human Services, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

As the first 3-D Dental Pre-Apprenticeship Program in the country, our program provides comprehensive training in dental terminology, dental anatomy, OSHA 10 certification, Microsoft Office, nutritional education, financial literacy, and hands-on 3-D dental printing laboratory instruction.

The graduation ceremony was held at Jackson State Community College, where we proudly recognized students representing Haywood, Hardeman, and Madison Counties.

We are incredibly proud of our graduates and their dedication, hard work, and commitment to building successful careers in the dental field. Their achievement marks another important step forward in strengthening workforce development across our region.

Yesterday Helping Hands had the opportunity to attend the Tennessee Nonprofit Network meeting, where Independent Sector gave an informative presentation on strengthening nonprofit advocacy and engagement nationwide.

Independent Sector is a national coalition of nonprofits, foundations, and corporate giving programs that works to advance policies that support charitable organizations and the communities they serve. Their work helps ensure nonprofits have a strong voice at the federal level.

It was also exciting to see Helping Hands of Middle & West Tennessee officially become members of the Tennessee Nonprofit Network. Expanding collaboration across our nonprofit community strengthens services and support for families throughout our region.

Grateful to be in the room with leaders committed to building stronger communities across Tennessee.

April is Second Chances Month in Tennessee!

WTLS is excited to host an upcoming expungement clinic in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and Historic First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Alongside the clinic, we’ll also offer a resource fair featuring support services and reentry-friendly employers ready to help individuals take the next step forward.

Vendor Invitation – Community Event April 25!🌟

Helping Hands of Middle & West Tennessee is excited to host a large community event on April 25 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM— and we’re inviting local vendors to participate!

We already have 20+ vendors joining us and would love to extend the opportunity to additional resource-based vendors in our community.

✅ Who Can Participate?
We are welcoming vendors who provide valuable community resources and information, such as:
• Housing assistance
• Credit repair services
• Financial literacy
• Health & wellness resources
• Educational programs
• Community outreach services
• Other beneficial community resources

🚫 Please Note:
• We are NOT accepting additional food trucks (we’re fully booked).
