We are looking for a super-star Surgical Assistant to join our oral surgery practice. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with superior customer service and organizational skills.
Typical working hours for this full-time position are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, Friday from 7 am – 3 pm, and occasional Wednesdays. Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
· Provides complete support to surgeon throughout routine in-office surgical procedures, including extractions, placement of dental implants, apicoectomies, and removal of pathological lesions.
· Participates in monitoring patient’s vital statistics, assistance with anesthesia/sedation, nitrous-oxide and intravenous fluids during surgery.
· Reviews pre-op and post-op instructions with patients.
· Takes digital impressions and CBCT scans for dental implant cases.
· Reviews patient health history and updates practice management software.
· Acquires diagnostic x-rays.
· Prepares and breaks down surgical tray and operatory.
· Maintains control of surgical and implant inventory and associated supplies.
Qualifications

· Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks.
· Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.
· Knowledge of DSN is a plus.
· Prior experience in dentistry is required and oral surgery experience is a plus.
· Reliable transportation.
Experience and Education Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or its equivalent.
· 1+ years of experience in a private practice, surgical facility and/or hospital setting.
· Dental Anesthesia Assistant Nation Certification Examination (DAANCE) Certification (Required, or willingness to complete within 18 months of employment).
· Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
· Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) (Preferred).
License and Certification Minimum Requirements
· Current CPR certification (Required).
· Current Registered Dental Assistant in Washington State (Preferred).
· Dental Anesthesia Assistant Nation Certification Examination (DAANCE) Certification (Preferred).
