A meaningful case that took over a year in the making, and we’re very glad to see it come to completion.
This case presented a few clinical challenges. The patient came to us with an occlusal cant, alongside a larger existing canine implant crown, which made achieving balanced tooth proportions and symmetry quite delicate.
Additionally, tooth #8 had a compromised prognosis. Thanks to the meticulous endodontic treatment by Dr. Ethan Do, we were able to preserve the tooth. To prioritize long-term stability, both our team and the patient agreed to take a conservative approach—waiting nearly six months for #8 to fully stabilize before moving forward with the final crown restoration.

This case was such a rewarding journey for our team! Our patient came to us hoping to address multiple smile concerns:
1️⃣ A noticeable canted smile plane
2️⃣ An off-center midline
3️⃣ A combination of existing dental work across different tooth types
Executing a harmonious smile makeover involving implant crowns, porcelain veneers, and onlays requires meticulous planning—every substrate reflects light differently, making shade and texture matching a true art form. 🎨🔬
By correcting the cant and midline, we created a seamless, natural smile curve that perfectly aligns with her facial features. Huge shoutout to our talented master ceramist at CMR Lab for their phenomenal artistry in bringing this vision to life! 👏

Since 2020, this Kois journey has been incredible. This is my 8th trip to the Kois Center 🙌. Excellent dentistry is taught here, but more importantly, Dr. John Kois’ humility and consistency inspire me endlessly.

It’s the friendships that make the journey truly precious. I feel so lucky to have met so many incredible human beings and amazing friends: Lauriane from France (thank you, MODJAW queen!), Dr. Sandra (injection molding queen) from Hong Kong—we just met at AACD and share so many contacts—Yoonie, even though you don’t use Instagram, you’re truly my Korean sister, graduating Magne education and now Kois together! I can’t even count all the friends I made in other courses who are still with me at this graduation—I miss you all! Even my last walk with a guru from Spain taught me so much more about occlusion. It’s a lifelong journey—never stop learning, always stay humble. Again, I’m lucky to graduate with great friends, mentors, and specialists—oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists—from around the world, and lifelong friendships. 🥰🙏🏻

And finally, I can call myself a Kois graduate! ☺️🙌 In honor of Dr. John Kois: “It’s about being better than yourself!”
