You Might Be Doing This Without Realizing It 👀
Some everyday habits can quietly affect your teeth and gums over time. Here are a few common mistakes we see at Joseph Dental Group:
☕ Brushing right after coffee or acidic foods
Your enamel softens temporarily after acidic drinks and foods. Brushing immediately afterward can increase wear. Try waiting about 30 minutes.
🪥 Using an old toothbrush
Worn bristles don’t clean effectively. Replace your toothbrush every 3–4 months.
💪 Brushing too hard
More pressure doesn’t mean cleaner teeth. Aggressive brushing can irritate gums and wear down enamel.
🧵 Skipping flossing
Your toothbrush can’t fully clean between teeth — flossing helps remove plaque where cavities often start.
⏱ Brushing too quickly
Most people brush for less than a minute. Aim for a full 2 minutes, twice daily.
Small habits add up — both the good and the bad.
