Trump’s picture was idiocy at best and blasphemy at worst. God will not be mocked. (And quite frankly, I’m tired of it. So I will make my little noise, and shake my fist at the sky, and yell “get of my lawn!!”)

And I am glad that Pope Leo is calling for peace.

One of the best and worst things about trying to live faithfully as a Catholic is just how difficult and challenging it can be. Christ called us to ‘be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect.’

GK Chesterton wrote “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.”

Living up the challenges of my Catholic faith constantly pushes me say no to myself (in a myriad of ways) so that I may say yes to something greater.

So, I am grateful that our spiritual Father is pleading for peace. We must strive for it always, even in difficult and dire situations.

(Archbishop Sample was our bishop here in the diocese of Marquette before he was appointed to the archdiocese of Portland, and he is decidedly NOT what most people would consider ‘liberal’.)

She started with my Dad and my Uncle Tony when she was 20 years old. My brother Ted was 6, and I was born just a few months later. 46 years later we celebrate all she has accomplished.

She’s worked for all four us, and has always shown up and given us and her patients her very best. Quick with a smile and joyful sense of humor, she could brighten any room… even a dental operatory.

Shes cleaned a lot of teeth, to be sure. But really thats just the surface level. She made a direct impact on the lives of so many, encouraging people to develop and maintain healthy habits, and encouraging patients to value their oral and overall health and well-being. I think she was good at this because when she talked to you, you couldn’t help but know that SHE valued YOU.

But even more that all of this, during these 46 years, Kathy got married to her loving husband Larry, had five children Barry, Kyle, Luke, Lane, and Lauren, watched them grow and get married, and now has 20 grandchildren!

Kathy Holsworth, it’s been a blessing and privilege. Thank you.

We’ve got you for one more week, but then it’s time for a new beginning! Go enjoy that beautiful family!

Kathy, it’s getting a little closer, and we are all going to miss you dearly when you retire, but we are going to enjoy the heck out of you until then!

Kind, diligent, detail oriented, hardworking, caring, tough-when-she-needs to be, and bottom line, she just loves her patients.

We love her too.

Trish!!! Happy “5 year” work anniversary!

Trish has worked for our family for many years, but most recently these last 5 as an assistant for me.

She’s super hardworking, loyal, quick to laugh, and not afraid to roll up her sleeves when things get busy and challenging.

She’s has shown time and time again that she will always be there, ready to help the patients and her teammates, everyday, no matter the circumstances. She’s as dependable as they come, and a lot of fun to boot! We love ya Trish!

We had a great time just enjoying each other’s company. These ladies are the best, and I am blessed to have them by my side as we take care of all of our patients.
