These are before/after photos of a tremendous smile transformation that was completed using all-ceramic crowns. This patient had existing white fillings that were failing and the enamel was wearing thin, which is something that affects many people over time. We were able to restore the smile to its natural beauty and color, preserving the natural shapes of her teeth, and strengthening them so the patient does not have to worry about fractured teeth in the future!

This week we said goodbye to our summer assistant intern, Elia. She’s a local girl who made so many patients smile while she was here! She was nothing short of a go-getter and has an outstanding work ethic. The assisting program at NMC continues to produce some of the best dental assistants in the state, and our community is lucky to benefit from their efforts! A profound example of what our professional whitening can do for our patients! Many patients suffer from various types of discoloration to their permanent teeth. Some are so severe that they could only be traditionally whitened with veneers or crowns, but that is not the case anymore. We can take the darkest stained teeth and whiten them to professional veneer shades in as little as two months simply by wearing whitening trays at night. This week Dr. Kay visited the kindergarten class at St. Mary School in Lake Leelanau! He had fun teaching the students all about the dental profession. He brought gloves, masks, and mirrors so they could pretend to be mini-dentists for a day. They also had fun reading stories about the dentist, and even got special prizes for being so wonderful!
