Metal allergy, esthetic concerns, or a clasp that shows in the smile zone. Flexible thermoplastic partials handle all three.

They're made from biocompatible nylon-based material, so there's no metal anywhere. The tissue-colored clasps blend in, the material flexes with natural tissue movement, and the whole partial is light enough that patients forget they're wearing it. It also absorbs impact well, so drops are less likely to end in a fracture.

Lab cost comes in lower than traditional cobalt chrome, and you can choose pink or purple gingival shades.

Best for anterior cases and comfort-driven patients where maximum retention isn't the goal.

AP spread is the distance from your most anterior implant to your most posterior implant, and it sets your cantilever limit. Traditional screw retained hybrid gets you up to 1.5 times that number. LOCATOR FIXED® keeps it at one time.

That is a general rule though. Implant size, opposing arch, bone quality, parafunction and bite force all change the math. A little old lady and a big construction worker are not the same case.

Poor AP spread? Shorten the cantilever or add a small diameter implant more posteriorly.
