What a great night of continuing education!

Last night, we had the pleasure of hosting an outstanding CE event featuring Dr. Heimke, who presented on 3D FaceScan RayFace, IOS, and Exocad in Restorative Cases.

How a Co-Cr bar is made can change how well a mandibular implant overdenture stays put. In a lab study published in BMC Oral Health, laser-sintered bars held on with more force than conventionally cast bars, and their surfaces changed less after roughly a year of simulated chewing, a modest but useful difference to know when choosing between digital and cast bars.

We are saddened to share that our former Vice President, Gregory Shreve, passed away peacefully on October 8th, with services being held on Friday, October 16th in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Gregory earned his degree in microbiology from The Ohio State University and dedicated 42 years to ROE as its Vice President. He played a major role in ROE's history and success and was a friend and mentor to many.

We are grateful for his lasting impact. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

Implant overdentures with a metal framework have been a tricky fit for fully digital workflows. A new technique in The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry shows one way to do it, milling the denture base and teeth together from a single resin disk and then adding the metal reinforcement for a better base fit and more precise tooth positioning.

Chairside housing pickup saves a lab shipment, but it adds chair time, it's technique-sensitive, and inadequate blockout can lock the overdenture onto the attachments. 😬

A new Cureus report documents an ArchBridge™ for Overdentue case where the retentive housings were processed at the lab using a patent-pending technique that works directly from digital records, with no poured models. The prosthesis arrived with the housings already in place.
