How much thought does the average temporary really get? For a long time it has been treated as the in-between step, something to carry the patient through until the final restoration arrives.

That thinking is starting to shift. With 3D printing, a temporary can act as a working prototype, giving clinicians a chance to check occlusion, esthetics, phonetics, and tissue response while there is still time to adjust.

Dr. Timothy Anderson walks through how this plays out in anterior, multi-unit, and full-arch cases, and how to fit it into a normal day without disrupting an existing workflow.

It is a worthwhile hour-long webinar for anyone curious where this is headed.

New systematic review looked at whether intraoral scanners actually improve impression accuracy for full-arch implant cases compared to conventional methods. Turns out IOS performs especially well with unparalleled implants, while conventional impressions still hold a slight edge when implants are parallel.

Useful context for anyone weighing digital workflows for edentulous patients.

Full-arch restorations in just two appointments. Is it really possible?

Traditional workflows can take from 5-6 appointments and over five hours of chairside time per arch. That's a significant investment for both your practice and your patients.

Dr. James Hamill breaks down how digital workflows are changing the game for full-arch cases. He covers the four pathways worth considering, including Photogrammetry, Grammetry ArchBridge, Grammetry OptiSplint, and iJIG based approaches, and explains why passivity is the factor most clinicians underestimate when fit and longevity are on the line.

New research comparing impression techniques for complete arch implants found that conventional polyether impressions still come out on top for accuracy, while digital workflows perform much better when paired with a splinting framework or a CBCT scan rather than relying on intraoral scanning alone. For dental teams handling full arch cases, especially with angled implants, the method you choose really does affect the final fit and long-term success of the restoration.

Revision cases for overdenture patients can eat up serious chair time, especially when a patient wants something more stable or a fixed solution.

At ROE, our ArchBridge for overdenture workflow is fully digital with no models or analog records needed. With just a few intraoral scans and our ArchBridge scan bodies, we can design and create the final prosthesis at the lab. That means fewer appointments and no risk of locking a prosthesis in the mouth during a chairside pickup.
