5 Benefits of Regular Dental Cleanings.

Benefit # 4 Saves You Money:

Catching dental problems early through regular dental cleanings can save you money on more extensive and expensive procedures in the future. For example, early detection and treatment of cavities can prevent the need for a root canal or tooth extraction. Regular cleanings can also help prevent gum disease, which can lead to the loss of one or more teeth and the need for dental implants.

5 Benefits of Regular Dental Cleanings.

Benefit # 3 Protects Your Teeth:

Regular dental cleanings help remove surface stains on teeth, leaving them looking brighter and healthier. Food and drink, such as coffee, tea, and red wine, can cause surface stains over time. A professional cleaning removes these stains, restoring the natural color of teeth.

Benefit #2 Maintains Oral Health:

Regular dental cleanings can help detect early signs of oral health problems, such as cavities, gum disease, or oral cancer. Early detection can prevent these problems from becoming more serious and requiring more extensive and expensive treatment. Regular cleanings also help to keep teeth and gums healthy, reducing the risk of future oral health problems.

5 Benefits of Regular Dental Cleanings

Taking care of your teeth is essential for maintaining good oral health and overall well-being. Regular dental cleanings are an important part of maintaining good oral hygiene and preventing serious dental problems from developing. In this blog post, we will explore why you should get your teeth cleaned on a consistent basis.

Reason #1 Prevent Tooth Decay and Gum Disease

Plaque, a sticky film of bacteria, constantly forms on your teeth. If not removed through brushing and flossing, plaque can harden into tartar, which can only be removed by a professional dental cleaning. Tartar buildup can lead to tooth decay and gum disease, both of which can cause serious oral health problems if left untreated. Regular dental cleanings help to remove plaque and tartar buildup, reducing the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

Why You Should Floss Your Teeth Every Day

Flossing is an essential part of a good oral hygiene routine. While brushing your teeth is important for removing plaque from the surface of your teeth, flossing helps to remove plaque and food particles from the areas in between your teeth where your toothbrush can't reach. Here are just a few of the many reasons why you should make flossing a daily habit:

Reduces the risk of gum disease: Plaque and food particles that are trapped between your teeth can cause gum inflammation and lead to gum disease. Flossing helps to remove this buildup, reducing the risk of gum disease.

Prevents tooth decay: Plaque can harden into tartar, which can only be removed by a dentist. Tartar buildup can lead to tooth decay, so it's important to remove plaque regularly to prevent this from happening.

Freshens breath: When food particles are trapped between your teeth, they can release an unpleasant odor. Flossing helps to remove these particles and freshen your breath.

Supports overall health: Research has shown that gum disease is linked to a number of serious health problems, including heart disease and stroke. By flossing regularly, you can help to reduce your risk of these and other health problems.

Promotes healthy teeth and gums: Regular flossing helps to remove plaque and food particles that can cause inflammation and infection in your gums. Over time, this can lead to healthy teeth and gums.

So, how often should you floss? The American Dental Association recommends flossing at least once a day, preferably before bedtime. If you're new to flossing, it may take some time to get used to it, but stick with it. The benefits to your oral health are well worth it!

Flossing is a simple and effective way to promote healthy teeth and gums. By making it a part of your daily routine, you can help to reduce your risk of gum disease, prevent tooth decay, and support your overall health. So, make flossing a priority and enjoy the many benefits of a healthy mouth!

Dental Implants can be a perfect solution for many issues.

We had a patient who had teeth that couldn't be saved and had to be removed. We were able to create dentures that would be connected to implants so they would stay in place allowing them to eat just about everything that anyone eats, not have any embarrassing slipping of the dentures, and doesn't cover the soft palate of the mouth giving it a more natural feel.

It also looks great, they couldn't stop smiling and neither could we.

Important Information for our patients,

The health and safety of our patients, team members, and community are of utmost importance to us. We want to share what our office is doing in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Please be assured that we are closely monitoring developments and implementing several additional safety precautions as a response to COVID-19.

At this time, our plan is to continue to serve the community without interruption until further notice. Being a healthcare facility, we have ALWAYS practiced Universal Precautions and followed OSHA guidelines for infection control. In addition, we use an outside company to monitor our sterilization methods. We have also increased our disinfection protocol and deep cleaning schedule. These precautions keep every patient and our team safe. The office will be following the CDC, and dental organization’s recommendations as we learn more about this virus.

As always, during cold and flu season, we ask you to please reschedule your appointment if you feel ill, have suffered from a fever in the last 48 hours, developed a cough, or think you have been exposed to someone with these symptoms. Please also reschedule if you have traveled out of the country or have been in contact with someone who has within the past 2 weeks.

In an attempt to minimize the number of individuals within our office, we respectfully ask that only patients with a scheduled appointment (and an accompanying caretaker/guardian, if needed) come to the office.

As per CDC guidelines, it is important for you to wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer as needed. We will keep you updated of any changes. We appreciate your understanding and assistance during this time.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
JD Reed Dental Team
