Before & After: Connective Tissue Grafts 🦷✨

This patient came to us with cold sensitivity and noticeable gum recession on the lower teeth.

After connective tissue grafting by Dr. Lisa Shi Franks, we’re already seeing increased gum coverage and improved tissue thickness just 1 month into healing!

The tissues will continue to heal and mature over time, but we’re loving this early result.

Dr. Lisa Shi Franks performed a connective tissue graft using the patient’s own tissue and a minimally invasive tunneling technique.

The tissue is carefully placed beneath the gum tissue, creating a protected environment that allows for proper blood supply, adaptation, and healing. The tunneling approach also allows the surrounding tissues to remain connected and migrate together during the healing process.

As the graft matures, the goal is to achieve natural tissue integration, improved gum thickness, and harmonious mucogingival coloration.
