It feels good to give back!

Dr. Boorin is getting ready to go on his annual mission to Guayaquil, Ecuador in March! He has been doing so since 2020 with the Global Smile Foundation. He joins a team of ENT and plastics surgeons who specialize in cleft lip and palate repair as well as a dedicated team of anesthesiologists, nurses, and other support team members. They come together from all over the US as well as South America. About 70-80 children and adults are treated over a 2 week period. Thankfully, the Ecuadorian government and Health Ministry fully supports the Mission!

This particular year, Dr. Boorin will be working on cases involving maxillary and mandibular osteotomies to improve chewing, airflow/breathing/sleep apnea issues, and facial profiles.

A dental anesthesiology resident from Stony Brook University Hospital will be joining Dr. Boorin for this invaluable experience!

Learning never stops!

Drs. Boorin, Gluckman, and Lim recently attended the annual conference by the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists in sunny San Diego!
While soaking in the California sun and breathing in the breezy, mist-laden Pacific air, the doctors learned about the newest medications and clinical care techniques and guidelines. Experts from around the country shared their passion and deep knowledge in a variety of anesthesiology related topics.

Besides hanging out with current residents at Stony Brook, Dr. Lim showed his fangirl moment with Dr. Emery Brown, a world leading expert on brain monitoring during anesthesia, and even paid homage to the supreme taco joints in San Diego!

Our very own Dr. Boorin is now a member of the New York State Board for Dentistry!

Appointed in September of this year, Dr. Boorin is a licensed professional member of the State Board that is charged with public protection by ensuring quality professional preparation and conduct. The Board provides advice on proposed changes in licensing and permit standards, practice issues, evaluation of continuing education courses for dental professionals and auxiliary team members, and licensure proceedings.

Dr. Boorin will serve a five-year term and regularly attend meetings throughout the year. He will be offering years of experience and knowledge in anesthetic care to the Board so dental patients can receive high quality oral health care in New York!

Dentistry is no longer a one provider operation. is crucial to providing optimal dental care, especially cases that involve surgical procedures and implants. Today we're recreating a patient smile by saving some teeth and replacing others with implants. Treatment provided by periodontists and a general dentist, facilitated with anesthesia by a dentist anesthesiologist (me!) to provide efficient care and optimal results.

How’s your Sunday ? Early morning trauma case. Pt fractured the entire clinical crown of #9 9 year old pt extremely uncooperative. Under iv sedation with .dentalhealth buccal and palatal flap. Rct with mta obturation. Crown lengthening around the remaining tooth structure. Bonded the two segments extraorally. Fiber post , core and luted the coronal segment back in. M**f composite on 8. Phewwww I’m officially wiped. how’d I do?

Spending the day in NYC at a unique office on the East Side that offers some awesome services including iv sedation for their patients. This office for the stars offers an impressive view of the 2nd largest residential building in NYC!
