It feels good to give back!
Dr. Boorin is getting ready to go on his annual mission to Guayaquil, Ecuador in March! He has been doing so since 2020 with the Global Smile Foundation. He joins a team of ENT and plastics surgeons who specialize in cleft lip and palate repair as well as a dedicated team of anesthesiologists, nurses, and other support team members. They come together from all over the US as well as South America. About 70-80 children and adults are treated over a 2 week period. Thankfully, the Ecuadorian government and Health Ministry fully supports the Mission!
This particular year, Dr. Boorin will be working on cases involving maxillary and mandibular osteotomies to improve chewing, airflow/breathing/sleep apnea issues, and facial profiles.
A dental anesthesiology resident from Stony Brook University Hospital will be joining Dr. Boorin for this invaluable experience!
