How do we keep all our patients safe?
One of the most important and least visible parts of infection control in dentistry happens inside our dental unit water lines.
Over time, the small tubing that delivers water to dental instruments can naturally develop biofilm (a thin layer of microorganisms that can build up on internal surfaces). Even in well-maintained systems, this is something every dental office must actively manage.
That’s why we routinely “shock” our water lines using a high-level disinfection process with a solution like Liquid Ultra. This process helps break down and remove biofilm buildup inside the lines, restoring water quality to a safe, clinical standard.
After shocking all lines overnight, we thoroughly flush and verify that our waterlines meet strict safety benchmarks before patient care resumes.
This isn’t something patients can see during their visit but it’s a critical layer of protection happening behind the scenes. Because safe dentistry isn’t just about what you feel in the chair… it’s about everything we do before you sit down ✨
