Important Information to our Valued Patients!

We are hoping that we will be able to open soon

We miss you!

Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

• You may see that our waiting room no longer offers magazines and samples or literature because it cannot be disinfected.

• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We have always practiced “universal precautions” in this office. This means that every surface in every treatment room is sterilized between each use as well as the autoclaving of instruments.

In addition, we will be continually sterilizing surfaces in the waiting room. Including door k***s and bathroom fixtures.

We are determined to protect our patients and staff.

Here’s a “Treat” for October to keep your diet healthy!

Frozen vegetables have greater nutrient density than raw veggies since they are frozen right the at the time of picking. Furthermore, more frozen vegetables have a greater shelf life in the freezer than will raw vegetables in the refrigerator. On the other hand, raw vegetables are easier to work with to make a greater number of meal combinations and they allow you to buy smaller amounts rather than in bulk so that you can use a wider variety for meals.

Nail Biting Versus Teeth And Gums
You might think that your teeth are much tougher than your fingernails, but over time, nail biting can cause significant damage to both teeth and gums. Here are some of the biggest ways this happens:

Erosion, chipping, and cracking: the grinding friction of teeth against nails can gradually wear the enamel away, or even cause teeth to chip or crack.
Malocclusion and gaps: biting nails doesn’t just damage the teeth, it can also cause them to move, leading to malocclusions (problems with the bite) and gaps.
Root resorption: possibly the scariest thing nail biting can do to teeth is cause the jaw bone to reabsorb the roots, weakening them and leaving them more vulnerable to falling out. This is an even greater risk for people with wire braces.

Gingivitis: a lot of dirt and germs get trapped under our fingernails, and when we chew on them, that all gets transferred to our mouths, which can result in gum disease.

Bruxism: a nail biting habit can increase a person’s risk of developing a chronic teeth-grinding habit, which comes with even more oral health problems, along with headaches and soreness.

The Freezing Temperatures Affect Your Enamel

Did you know that sensitive teeth aren’t just affected by the temperature of the foods you eat, but also by the temperature of the air?

In people who have worn-away or compromised tooth enamel, a temperature can pass right by the enamel and instead hit the dentin, which is the layer of softer tissue between the nerve of your tooth and your protective enamel.

Here is where the pain of tooth sensitivity comes in. Once the freezing temperatures affect your enamel in this way, it can feel difficult to breathe in cold air through your mouth because your teeth are hurting.
