In 1986, a group of alumni united together to establish the UTDB Endowment Fund, with 100 founding members each contributing $5,000. This initial investment has significantly appreciated, now valued at $2,034 million. Over the past forty years, the fund has provided a total of $2.668 million in donations to the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Fund, the founders gathered at the Omni Hotel, previously known as the Inn on the Park, the original site of the initiative’s inception.
