My dear sister, Emily, lost her battle with cancer on December 23rd. Thanks to my retirement I was able to spend long blocks of quality time with her for the last 6 months. Her services are tomorrow at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.

Hard to believe we are in our final month here at Brightwell Dental!

Some of you have found new dental homes, some are waiting to hear news about Vivian, our hygienist, new dental home (hint – Baytown!), and some are still in denial.

For those wishing to follow Vivian – she will start work June 5th at Baytown Gentle Dental. She’s excited about her new dental family and the fact her daily commute will be cut in half! Call the office for more details.

Dental records can be transferred to you personally or electronically. Please allow 30 days for us to make copies available. Call the office to give Regina your request and information. Most dental offices will want to take their own x-rays and only need the written records if you have dental insurance and had extensive dental work including root canals, extractions, implants, crowns, partials, or dentures.

It is hard to say goodbye. Our lives have been closely linked with yours for some time. All the team at Brightwell Dental are eager to begin the next phase of our lives.

Dr Brightwell was recognized at the GPISD Board of Trustees for over 40 years of business partnership with Galena Park ISD. Regina and Vivian were there as guests, and they brought flowers!

With deep gratitude for the privilege of being your dentist, this serves to inform you that the time is coming for me to retire. I plan to stop treating patients in May and will close the office doors around May 31, 2023. There are not enough words to express how fulfilling my 45+ years of practice have been to me. Thanks to you, all my dreams have come true and grown into more than I ever imagined. The long-time relationships with patients, their families, and my office staff have been nurturing and sustaining beyond description. Please keep my staff in your thoughts and prayers as they seek new positions and dental homes. I am proud to have worked with such dedicated staff to make a difference in many smiles and lives, including our own.
