The discoloration on this patient's teeth was the kind that sits too deep for any tray or treatment to touch. Add in the alignment and there was really only one option that was going to get them where they wanted to go.

Whitening works on natural enamel but it cannot fix shape, spacing, chips, or discoloration that lives deeper than the surface. I have had so many patients come in who have spent years and a lot of money on whitening products chasing a result that was never going to come from a tray.

Getting a smile makeover is not selfish.

I have had so many patients sit in my chair and tell me they almost did not book because they felt like they should be spending that money on something else. Their kids, their house, their next vacation. And I get it. But at some point you have to choose yourself too.

Your smile is something you live with every single day. It affects how you feel walking into a room, how you show up in photos, how comfortable you are just being yourself around other people. That is not a small thing.

I was 12 years old on a Take Your Daughter to Work Day with my dad, who is an oral surgeon. I remember sitting there watching him work and just being completely captivated. The precision, the way he could walk into a room and completely change something for someone in a matter of hours. Something clicked that day that never unclicked.

From that point on I never really considered anything else. I went on to get my degree from UT School of Dentistry right here in Houston, spent years building my skills in cosmetic dentistry, and in 2020 I opened The Village Dentistry with a very clear picture of what I wanted it to be.

Now I get to do what I fell in love with at 12 every single day. And the fact that I get to do it in this city, with this team, for patients who trust me with something as personal as their smile, that part still gets me. 🤍

One thing I always tell patients when they are researching cosmetic dentists is to ask who makes the veneers.

My ceramist is genuinely one of the most important parts of my results. We talk through every case together. The shade, the translucency, the shape, the way light moves through each veneer. That collaboration is what takes a good result and makes it a great one.

Not every cosmetic dentist works closely with a ceramist and you can see the difference in the final result. When you are trusting someone with your smile it is worth asking that question.

Discoloration from a previous root canal had been bothering this patient for a long time. One porcelain veneer later and you would never know anything was ever there.
