Originally from Laguna Philippines, she has lived in Kansas since she immigrated to the US in 1990. She received a Medical Secretary associate degree from the University of Perpertual Help at Laguna. She has worked as a Dental Assistant for over 6 years, though she has worked in almost every subfield of healthcare. She is married to Rich and they have four children. Aimie enjoys sewing, cooking, and raising her husky Miki.

Meet Ellie!

Ellie is a native of Holton and graduated from Holton High in 2011. Ellie married her husband, Dillon in 2015. Together they have a daughter, Madison, and a son, Cameron. Ellie also works as a clerk at Holton Livestock Exchange. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and exercising. She also enjoys archery and the outdoors. Ellie has been with Holton Dental since 2013.

Meet Jaymee!

Jaymee is a Dental Assistant at our office and you can typically find her working alongside Dr. Gilliland. Jaymee was born and raised in Holton, KS. She graduated from Holton High and Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy in 2022. She enjoys going to concerts and spending time with her boyfriend of 5 years, James, and friends. She is also very creative.

Meet-The-Staff Monday! Moving from front office to assistants, meet Shelly Boyd.

As an assistant, Shelly is who you see before you see the doctor. She will typically take your blood pressure, run some tests if you come in for an emergency, or explain what will happen during your appointment. Shelly grew up in Holton and graduated from Holton High School in 2013, joining our Holton Dental team in 2023. She married her husband, Josh, in 2016 and they have 3 kids together - Samuel, Hadleigh, and Malakai. You can usually find Shelly curled up with a good book, chasing around her children, or enjoying the peaceful views at the home her husband built for them.

Did you know that most everything at the dental office is SAFE during pregnancy?

Oral health care, including having dental radiographs taken and being given local anesthesia, is safe at any point during pregnancy. The ADA and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) even agree that emergency treatments, such as extractions, root canals or restorations can be safely performed during pregnancy and that delaying treatment may result in more complex problems. During pregnancy, individuals may be at increased risk for oral conditions such as gingivitis and dental caries, and should be counseled by both their obstetrician and dentist on the importance of good oral hygiene throughout the pregnancy.

However, Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) has a risk of fetal harm if administered during pregnancy. This is why you might see our assistants switch if you decide you want nitrous during your appointment or why we may ask you to wait in the waiting room if you are pregnant and bring another child to an appointment.

Meet-Our-Staff Monday! Finishing up our front office this week is Jody King!

Jody is the first smiling face you see when you walk into our office and is the comforting voice you hear when calling in with an emergency. She was born and raised outside of Netawaka, KS. She graduated from Jackson Heights in 2007. She then attended Washburn University and completed their Physical Therapist Assistant Program (2009), followed by getting her Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration (2011). Jody and her husband Nick moved back to the Holton area in 2023. They have 3 children, Maverick, Thayer, and Rynnlee. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, watching her kids participate in sporting events and vacationing in the mountains.
