Macatawa Smiles

Macatawa Smiles ~We are a family oriented practice always welcoming new patients. We want our patients to feel comfortable and at home in our office.

Dr. Habecker and his team want to help patients feel and look their best through gentle, quality care. Anxiety and fear of the unknown can be a real issue when it comes to dental treatment. This is why we do everything we can to make sure our patients understand fully any recommended treatment. We are more than happy to take the time to explain what options you might have, and we will never procee

d with any treatment until you are completely comfortable with it. We take good patient education very seriously.

~We Do Everything We Can to Ensure Your Comfort

At Macatawa Smiles, we realize how important it is to offer the latest in dental technology. It means our patients are more comfortable and their visits to our office can be completed more efficiently. With digital x-rays and intraoral cameras, Dr. Habecker is able to detect problems while they are still small. The intraoral camera enables him to see cavities that are so tiny, they may not even need numbing to treat! We continue to update our technology offerings, because we are firm believers that going to the dentist does not have to be a painful, unpleasant experience. We also recognize the challenges posed by dental anxiety and offer sedation with nitrous oxide to help ease your fears and calm your worries.

~We Want to Be Your Choice for Family Dentistry

The three tenets on which we base Macatawa Smiles are prevention, honesty, and quality. Our goals is to take care of small dental issues before they turn into big problems. We will never recommend a treatment that is not absolutely necessary. And we will provide the best care we can to our patients every time they see us. We are looking forward to meeting you and your entire family. If you have any questions or are feeling anxious about your appointment, do not hesitate to contact us ahead of time. Call our office today to make an appointment with Dr. Habecker!

Here is a question we hear a lot: if I brush and floss properly, why do I still need a cleaning?

Because there are two different things building up on your teeth.

Plaque you can remove at home by brushing and flossing. Tartar is plaque that has hardened, and only a skilled dental professional can remove it — that part is genuinely our job, not yours.

In general, we recommend a teeth cleaning every 6 months. Give us a call today!

A night guard does more than protect your teeth—it can also help relieve symptoms caused by grinding and clenching.

You may benefit from a custom night guard if you experience:

• Frequent morning headaches
• Jaw soreness or tightness when you wake up
• Worn, chipped, or flattened teeth
• Unexplained tooth sensitivity
• Clicking or popping in the jaw
• Facial or ear pain not caused by an infection

If these symptoms sound familiar, schedule a consultation to learn if a night guard is right for you.

Wishing our patients, families, and community a safe and happy Fourth of July.

As you celebrate with friends and loved ones, remember to protect your smile by avoiding using your teeth to open packages, bottles, or snack bags.

We hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday weekend and make lasting memories.

Losing a dental crown can feel stressful, but in many cases, it’s not a true emergency.

If your crown falls off, the most important thing is to stay calm, keep the crown safe, and contact your dentist as soon as possible. Our blog explains that temporary dental cement from a drugstore may help protect the tooth until your appointment, and avoiding sticky or hard foods can prevent further damage.

Want to know exactly what to do if your crown comes off? Read the full blog here: https://www.macatawasmiles.com/dental-blog/help-my-dental-crown-fell-off/

Dr. Habecker can replace your missing crown in one appointment! If your dental crown falls off, call Macatawa Smiles as soon as possible.

Dental visits can feel overwhelming for some children, but laughing gas may help make appointments more comfortable and stress-free.

At Macatawa Smiles, laughing gas is used as a mild form of sedation to help children relax during dental treatment while remaining awake and responsive. It works quickly, wears off fast, and is considered safe for children when administered by trained professionals.

Want to learn more about how laughing gas works and whether it may be right for your child? Read the blog here:
https://www.macatawasmiles.com/dental-blog/is-laughing-gas-safe-for-children/

Laughing gas is a safe way to manage dental anxiety in children. Not only is laughing gas quick to wear off but there are also no lingering side effects.
