We arrived at the Nuru Yake Community Center in Ongata Rongai with dental supplies, equipment, and a mission to bring much-needed dental care to the community.

With the help of many wonderful volunteers, we transformed an empty room into a fully functioning dental clinic, ready to welcome patients over the next few days. 🦷

🇰🇪🦷 Neville Dental Care Goes to Nairobi: A Day in Mathare ❤️

Mathare is one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements, just outside Nairobi, where many families lack access to running water, proper sanitation, and basic healthcare, including dental care.

Dr. Abby and Polina joined Dr. Mike from World Ministries International and his incredible team of volunteers to provide dental care to more than 150 people in just one day! 🦷❤️

For many, this meant much-needed relief from painful dental conditions. For others, it meant a cleaning and the confidence that comes with a healthier, brighter smile.

✈️🇰🇪 NAIROBI BOUND!

Travel day is finally here!

Kellie: Connecticut ➡️ JFK
Dr. Abby & Polina: Pennsylvania ➡️ JFK
Next stop together: NAIROBI 🇰🇪

After weeks of planning, packing and counting down, we’re meeting at JFK today to officially begin our adventure.

And it turns out Kellie’s contribution to this dental mission may be more significant than originally anticipated. 😂

🧳 Contribution #1: Two free checked bags — which Dr. Abby has happily claimed for dental supplies. Because apparently my luggage allowance belongs to Neville Dental Care now.

🥂 Contribution #2: Delta Sky Club access — because if we’re about to spend roughly 17 hours traveling, we’re going to start this journey fed, comfortable and perhaps with a celebratory drink. Thank you, Delta status. 🙌

📸 Contribution #3: Camera charged and ready to document it all.

So maybe I do have some useful mission skills after all. 😂

🇰🇪 48 HOURS TO NAIROBI. ✈️

The bags are packed. The countdown is almost over. And suddenly, this trip feels very real.
Dr. Abby? Ready. 🦷

She’s done this before. She knows where we’re going, who we’ll meet and why she couldn’t wait to go back.

Polina? Eager to fulfill her longtime dream. 🫶

Kellie? Excited… and also feeling ALL the feelings. ❤️

I cannot wait to experience Kenya, meet the people Abby has told me so much about, document the work being done and share this adventure with my sister and Polina.

But first, I have to do the hardest part: leave my boys.

So for the next 48 hours, you can pretty much guarantee I’ll be hugging Weston and Caden a little tighter, sneaking in extra kisses and reminding myself that eight days really isn’t that long. 🥹❤️

The bags are packed.
The dental supplies are ready. 🦷
The camera is charged. 📸
The boys are getting approximately 4,000 more hugs before I leave. 😂

Next stop: Nairobi. 🇰🇪

In just 3 days, our team will be heading to Kenya to provide much-needed dental care to communities with limited access to treatment.

We’ve shared a lot about who is going and why we’re going — and now we’re asking for your help to make the biggest impact possible while we’re there.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help provide dental care, equipment and supplies, along with 250 oral health care packages for the people we serve.

On Dr. Abby’s previous mission to Kenya, her team provided treatment to more than 900 people. This time, we’re heading back ready to serve again — and every donation helps us do more. 🪥🦷

💛 A legacy of love, stitched into every dress. 🇰🇪

Meet our Grandma Ginny — 98 years young and still finding ways to serve others.

Since September 2018, Grandma Ginny has been sewing dresses for Samaritan’s Purse. She estimates she’s made more than 500 dresses over the years, each one handmade with love for a little girl she may never meet.

And now, she’s been busy sewing something extra special: dresses for us to pack in our suitcases and personally give to girls in Kenya. 🧵👗❤️

For us, this trip is about so much more than dental care. It’s about serving wherever and however we can — something Grandma Ginny has modeled for our family for as long as we can remember.

We learned what acts of service look like by watching her quietly give her time, talents and heart to others.

Now, as we prepare to carry some of her handmade dresses all the way to Kenya, we hope we’re making her proud.

98 years young. 500+ dresses. One incredible example to follow. 💛

We love you, Grandma Ginny. Your love is coming to Kenya with us. 🇰🇪❤️

🇰🇪 ONE WEEK TO NAIROBI! ✈️

The countdown has officially reached 7 DAYS, which means it’s time to start packing.

And our packing lists look… slightly different. 😂

🦷 NEVILLE DENTAL CARE BAGS:

Everything needed to help provide dental care during four days of clinics

In all seriousness, the excitement is getting very real. In just one week, we’ll be on our way to Nairobi for days filled with service, new experiences, incredible people and a little bit of adventure along the way.

✈️🦷 MEET ANOTHER MEMBER OF OUR KENYA TEAM! 🇰🇪

Our team is growing! We’re so excited to share that Polina, one of Dr. Abby’s amazing dental hygienists, has decided to join us in Kenya! 💙

For Polina, this trip is the fulfillment of a longtime dream:

“It has been a dream of mine for a very long time to go on a missionary trip, and I am incredibly thankful and grateful that I now have the opportunity to make that dream a reality.

I am excited and humbled to have the chance to serve others who are in need, share God’s love, and hopefully make a positive difference in the lives of the people I encounter. I know this experience will be a blessing to me as well, and I look forward to learning, growing, and serving with a grateful heart.”

We couldn’t be happier to have Polina joining Neville Dental Care Goes to Nairobi! Her skills as a dental hygienist—and her heart for serving others—will be such an incredible addition to our team.
