After many wonderful years of caring for your smiles, I have made the very difficult and deeply meaningful decision to retire from my dental practice.
It is hard to put into words what this practice, and all of you have meant to me throughout my career. What began as a profession became so much more. I have had the privilege of getting to know generations of families, celebrating milestones with you, sharing in your lives, and most importantly, earning your trust. For that, I will always be incredibly grateful.
This decision has also been shaped by a significant experience in my own life. In January of this year, I underwent open-heart surgery. While everything has gone well, the experience gave me a new perspective and reminded me just how precious time really is. I have spent many years building a practice and caring for my patients, and now I feel it is time to make room for another important chapter of my life.
I want to travel, spend more time with family and friends, experience new places, and simply enjoy as much of life as I possibly can while I am still young, healthy, and able to do the things I have dreamed of doing.
I am comforted knowing that I am leaving you in very capable hands. I am pleased to introduce Dr. Colton Niblack, who will be taking over the practice. Dr. Niblack received his degree from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. I have great confidence in Dr. Niblack and believe he will provide the same high level of care, compassion, and commitment that you have come to expect from this office.
Dr. Niblack and his wife, Helen, recently relocated to Holland with their young daughter, and they are looking forward to planting roots here where they will be closer to loved ones. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has spent his career caring for patients of all ages. Dr. Niblack is excited to get to know all of you and become part of the West Michigan community.
At your next visit with your favorite dental team, please welcome Dr. Niblack and give him the same trust and support that you have given me over the years.
Although I am retiring from dentistry, I certainly hope this isn’t goodbye. If you see me around town, please stop and say hello. I would love nothing more than to hear how you are doing and to catch up.
