Safe Removal of Mercury Fillings

Do you want to, or possibly need to, replace your old mercury containing silver amalgam fillings?

• YES! They contain 50% mercury.
• YES! The mercury v***r is slowly released into your mouth from that filling.
• YES! The Mercury expands and contracts with temperature changes causing many teeth to crack.
• YES! It is still considered "legal" to place mercury fillings in your mouth, but it is ILLEGAL to throw those fillings in the garbage or even flush them down the toilet after they have been removed from your mouth. Wait. WHAT???

Dr. Timothy Gross uses a safe mercury removal protocol designed to prevent mercury exposure, including rubber dam isolation, surgical drapes, high-volume suction inside and outside of your mouth, copious sterile water irrigation, and careful and controlled removal techniques.

Do you have silver colored mercury fillings that you would like safely removed from your mouth? Schedule a consultation with Dr. Timothy Gross on Hilton Head Island to learn about your options.

August is National Wellness Month, and one of the most important things that can affect your health is the quality of your sleep every night.

Dentists play an important role in treating obstructive sleep apnea with custom made oral appliances.

Sleep apnea is a common condition that causes repeated pauses in breathing during sleep leading to snoring, difficulty waking up in the morning, daytime fatigue, poor concentration, headaches and increased risks for heart disease, high blood pressure, dementia and other health concerns.

Left untreated, sleep apnea can affect your energy, focus, and overall health.

The good news is that Dr. Timothy Gross has had extensive training treating patients with sleep apnea and has made hundreds of custom oral appliances. As a matter of fact, Dr. Gross also wears a sleep appliance so he personally knows exactly what it feels like when your sleep is poor and when your sleep is good.

If you struggle with snoring, wake up feeling tired, repeatedly wake up at night or experience daytime fatigue, sleep apnea could be the cause. Ask our team if dental sleep therapy could help you sleep... and feel... better.

Did You Know..
Worn down teeth many times is due to a problem with your bite, not stress?

Dentists across the world are seeing a rise in worn, flattened, chipped and cracked teeth due to both bite and stress-related issues. 🤯 Feeling stressed can increase your likelihood to grind or clench your teeth, which can wear down or even chip your teeth. But a misaligned bite can do just as much, if not more damage.

If you're concerned your smile is not as attractive as it once was due to worn teeth, please call us today and we'll examine your teeth and bite to repair any existing issues and prevent further damage. Curious about what's possible? Check out this patient's before-and-after photos to see the results Dr. Gross achieved.
