Today happens to be National Dentist Day... 𦷠remember back in the day when a trip to the dentist felt like walking into a horror movie.
That old vinyl chair. The blinding overhead light. The high-pitched whine of the drill that you could hear before you even sat down. And depending on how far back you go⦠letās just say modern numbing techniques werenāt always part of the experience. We talked about dental visits like they survived something. lol
Even the waiting rooms even felt different than todays. Stacks of outdated magazines, that faint antiseptic smell, and the slow ticking clock while you tried not to think about what was coming next. If you grew up in the ā50s, ā60s, or ā70s, you probably remember gripping those armrests a little tighter than you do today.
Now? Technology is better. Procedures are quicker. Comfort is a priority. The tools are quieter, the numbing works, and youāre in and out faster than ever.
These days, the scariest part of going to the dentist isnāt the drillā¦itās opening the bill afterward. š
Be honest: did the dentistās office used to terrify you, or were you one of the brave ones?
