Posting this case to show that those of us who have been in the field long enough can free hand implants. Nothing wrong with having a well fitting guide. This is a wonderful patient with a great restorative denture who has lost many max teeth had a failing maxillary partial . Vertical dimension had to be restored. Plan was for upper complete with four implants that will serve as locator attachments after osseointegration. If you are doing implants you need to learn how to place implants free hand for you will run into instances where the guide is way off. Experience has taught all of us this !!

This post is to thank my staff for chugging it out with my with an exceptionally challenging week of surgeries. Even the soft tissue graft on tooth #25 was a challenge for there was no tissues to work with, no vestibule and zero attached gingiva. Maybe cause I have been around for a while and have experience. or maybe cases are getting harder but literally the easiest surgery is I had this week was the implant area 11 (last photo) that I free handed between these two adjacent teeth. Previously specialist took out tooth #11 without any bone grafting of ridge preservation which I did at the time of implant placement. When threading a needle in an implant case is your easiest case of the week. You know how hard it was. Thank you to my staff and all referring doctors for the support. Vacation time but still thinking about Perio. Unfortunately could not save tooth 8,9. Opted for staged implants for as you see the buccal plates were non existent. I grafted with min cort bone and added prf Removable ovate Pontic transitional. (Not photographed) Straumann BLT implants. Then final photos restored. Although at max smile you don’t see the gingival portion. What makes me super happy is that we have papilla’s and the tissue is pink and firm. Many dentist worry about side by side implants and having black triangles. But if you follow good surgical and restorative plans you can get good esthetics. So grateful to work with Dr Kemp. She is one amazing person and dentist

The office will be closed starting Thurs June 25 at 3pm returning Monday July 6 at 8am. This is our annual summer break to rest and rejuvenate with our family and friends. Thank you to all our referring offices and patients for the immense support. We love you all. And this is a stock photo !

Honored just to have been asked to present at the Fotona International Symposium in Slovenia where I met other great Fotona users from all over the world. I learned so much , met wonderful providers and fell in love with the beautiful country of Slovenia. Thank you Fotona for the invite. 💙 it was an amazing experience.

I get a lot of referral for treatment of Periimplantitis. I try very very hard to save failing or ailing implants. But sometimes you just have to remove This is such a case. The sweetest patient moved close to my office. Had been seeing a periodontist for past many years. Implants and fixed prosthesis are failing. He finally consented to remove. You can see the inflammation and calculus and debris on the implants. Took everything out. Added bone grafts and platelet Rich fibrin to aid in healing. Final Prosthesis was complete upper denture. He had an amazing dentist who made a complete denture and she hit it out of the park. Esthetics, fit and function are great. He is one of the sweetest patients I have. Love love helping patients and impact their oral and general health. Will tackle the lower arch in a bit.
