In this case a CBCT scan helped us map the inferior alveolar nerve and plan the position of the implant immediately at the time of extracting the molar tooth. This scenario helps the patient have one surgery for all necessary treatment before getting his molar crown. Note the implant normally takes 4 months average to heal before starting the crown process. Be patient, respect biology, and follow your surgeons recommendations for best healing!

Happy Monday. Patients own tissue used to graft an area of gum recession and deformity. Treatment has multiple benefits that overall helps reduce the risk of further recession of bone and gums. In this case the goals of therapy include: increase the barrier of attached soft tissue that promotes easier cleaning, reduces plaque accumulation, and consequently helps reduce inflammation of the gingiva (gums).  The graft also promotes a more predictable long term root coverage therapy and increases the width of soft tissue therefore making it thicker and less prone to irritation while chewing or brushing.

Mucogingival deformity on the buccal aspect of tooth #24 with lack attached gingiva, reduced keratinized gingiva and frenum involvement. The area is vulnerable to further gum recession, bone loss. The high risk for further issues with the tooth may require surgical intervention. In this case, Autogenous Connective tissue graft with a tunnel flap was the treatment performed. Frenum involvement treated with a simple frenectomy 3 months postop CTG to reduce risk of frenum pull back. 👉🏼 👉🏼 👉🏼 SWIPE RIGHT TO SEE OUTCOMES POSTOP 1 MONTH. (*don’t mind the CHX rinse staining and plaque on that post visit 🤫)

Periodontal disease is sometimes elusive. Although this tooth may look healthy from a gum perspective the story is a lot different when using the right tools to check. Suppuration from a deep furcation involvement is evident. The steps shown below are the technical procedures used to treat this area best.
-A Surgical flap to access and perform root debridement.
-Complete debridement of the furcation does not alone resolve the problem.
The GOAL: Reduction of furcation involvement by new attachment performing guided tissue regeneration with bone graft. That means prolong the life of this nice chewing tooth! 🙌🏼

Thin tissue bio type, generalized gingival recession, sensitivity to cold are some of the most common findings to patients with generalized root exposure and gum loss. The minimally invasive Tunneling technique using Alloderm and prolene sutures was used. Look at the 1 month postop pic below to see how overall improvement in root coverage and gingival thickness is fairly notable.

Beautiful case with bilateral indirect sinus lifts and implants. 4 implants are the minimum required for an overdenture prosthesis on the maxillary arch. This patient wanted an overdenture instead of a fixed hybrid or implant bridge. The overdenture is a good implant prosthesis that is removable and easy to clean and most often more affordable. I had to do some alveolar reduction due to the prominent maxillary tuberosisties caused by the years of extrusion of posterior maxillary teeth with no stop.
