Our office provides specialized dentistry for children and adolescents in a warm, caring and "child-friendly" environment. As pediatric dentists, our 2-3 years of additional training after dental school has prepared us for the unique dental needs of each child we serve. Our office serves infants, children and teens in Highland Village, TX and surrounding areas.

On average, it takes 10 to 11 years of total higher education and training after high school to become a pediatric dentist in Texas.
Now that’s a commitment! Here are the steps our doctors took to be here with us! 🤩

1. Educational Foundation 🍎🦷

Undergraduate Degree:
Earn a bachelor’s degree with a strong focus on sciences like biology or chemistry.

Dental School:
Graduate from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited dental school with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree.

National Boards:
Pass the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE).

2. Pediatric Dentistry Residency 👧🏼👦🏻👶🏽

Specialized Training:
Complete an accredited 24-month (or longer) post-doctoral residency program in pediatric dentistry.

Focus Areas:
Training covers child psychology, growth and development, hospital dentistry, and special patient care.

3. Texas State Licensure 📝🏆

Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE): Apply for your general dentist license through the TSBDE.

Specialty Recognition:
Register your pediatric specialty with the state board once your advanced training certificate is earned.

Special Permits:
If you plan to administer sedation or anesthesia to pediatric patients in Texas, you must complete specialized pediatric sedation endorsements and acquire the appropriate TSBDE anesthesia permits.

4. Board Certification (Recommended) 🏅

American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD):
Take the qualifying and oral clinical examinations administered by the ABPD to achieve full board certification.
