One missing tooth might not seem like a big deal… but your mouth notices. 🦷
When a tooth is lost, the teeth next to it can slowly start to shift. The tooth above or below it may begin to move into the empty space. Over time, this can change your bite, create uneven pressure when you chew, and put extra stress on surrounding teeth.
But the change doesn’t stop there.
Your tooth roots help keep your jawbone strong. When a tooth is missing, that area of bone no longer gets stimulation and can begin to shrink over time. This can eventually affect the strength of your jaw and even the shape of your smile.
The good news? 👍🏼Replacing a missing tooth early; with options like dental implants or bridges, can help keep your bite stable, protect nearby teeth, and maintain healthy jawbone.
A missing tooth is more than cosmetic. Treating it early protects your entire smile 😃.
🦷 If you have a missing tooth and aren’t sure what your options are, we’re happy to help guide you.

Happy Saturday! ☀️

🦷❤️ Your Mouth & Your Heart Are More Connected Than You Think 🤔
A recent study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association (2025) found DNA from oral bacteria…especially Viridans streptococci, in nearly 50% of coronary artery plaques examined!!
Even more concerning? These bacteria were organized in biofilms, which are protective communities that can resist the immune system and persist over time. Researchers believe disturbances in these biofilms may trigger inflammation and plaque rupture: key events that can lead to heart attacks.
This strengthens what we’ve been saying for years:
👉 Oral health is systemic health.

Untreated gum infections and poor oral hygiene may allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream, contribute to inflammation, and potentially impact cardiovascular health.

Taking care of your teeth and gums isn’t just about a pretty smile 😃 it may be an important step in protecting your heart ❤️

Floss. Brush. Keep your hygiene appointments. Your heart might thank you. ❤️

When the holiday stress hits, try 4-7-8 breathing. Breathing is an essential act that requires no thought. But thinking about it can alter your physical and mental health. It can relieve stress and anxiety or help you wind down and fall asleep. Here’s how to do it:

🦷❤️ Your Gums and Your Heart: A Surprising Connection

New research shows that untreated gum disease doesn’t just affect your smile—it may also increase the risk of atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder.

Chronic gum inflammation can trigger widespread inflammation in the body, which may contribute to heart issues, including abnormal electrical activity and atrial fibrosis.

The good news?
Professional cleanings and good oral hygiene can significantly reduce inflammation and may help lower your risk.

Taking care of your gums is an important part of taking care of your heart. 💙

*FUN FACT*

💪✨ In the mid-1800s, dentistry was a man’s world. But Lucy Beaman Hobbs said no thanks to limits.

Rejected by every medical and dental school, she learned in secret—proving that skill has no gender.

By 1861, she opened her own practice without a degree. Patients lined up. Critics went quiet. Her success forced the profession to face its own bias.

And in 1866, she made history—becoming the first woman in the U.S. to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).

Lucy didn’t just fix smiles—she changed the face of dentistry. 🦷💥

Today, every woman in the field stands on the foundation she built with courage, talent, and quiet rebellion.

🦷 Your Mouth Reflects Your Whole Body

Did you know your oral health is closely connected to your overall health?
Bacteria and inflammation in the mouth don’t just stay there — they can enter the bloodstream and increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and even pregnancy complications.

Your mouth often shows the first signs of health problems like vitamin deficiencies, autoimmune conditions, and more.
• Bleeding gums
• Sores that don’t heal
• Persistent bad breath

These may not just be “dental issues” — they can be early warning signs from your body.

By keeping your mouth healthy, you’re protecting your entire body. A healthy smile truly means a healthier you!
