📣Reminder - Starting Today 📣

The Iowa DOT Manchester construction office announces that the northbound to westbound traffic movement at the I-380 and Boyson Road interchange will be closing on Monday, Oct. 6, for approximately one week, weather permitting. The northbound exit ramp will remain open to traffic, however travelers taking the exit can only turn right (east) from the ramp during this time.

During the closure of the northbound to westbound traffic movement, a detour will be in place to direct motorists wishing to access westbound Boyson Road to turn around at the Tower Terrace Interchange (exit 26).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.

🎉🚧 It’s happening, Hiawatha! 🚧🎉

After a long wait, Boyson Road is reopening by the end of the day THIS Thursday, August 21st! 🙌 And here’s the best part… there will be NO MORE full closures as project work still continues into the 2026 construction season.

Here’s what else is opening:
✅ Northbound exit ramp
✅ Southbound exit AND entrance ramps
⏳ The northbound entrance ramp will remain closed until late October.

⚠️🚧BOYSON ROAD BRIDGE CLOSURE🚧⚠️

Closure Date: Monday, July 14.
Duration: 20 working days.
Location: Boyson Road bridge over I-380.
Ramps: All four I-380 ramps at Boyson Road will be closed.
Detour: The northbound exit ramp will reopen after 20 days, but the northbound entrance ramp will remain closed for a couple more weeks.

Please allow extra travel time if this route affects you.

Beginning Thursday, May 15, construction crew will close the Boyson Road bridge (between 12th Ave. and Center Point Road) over interstate 380. The work is anticipated to take just beyond a week, weather permitting. The map below shows alternate routes.
