Dear Patients:

Schmitt Orthodontics is continuing to track the developments regarding the COVID-19 “Coronavirus” outbreak in the United States. The prevailing protocols suggest reducing interpersonal contacts to minimize the virus’ transmission, with the hope that it is seasonal and that its spread will slow until the peak season has passed. This is why you have seen suspensions and cancellations with the major sports leagues, schools, and festivals. The hope, again, is that schedules will return to normal once this peak season has passed and the risk of transmission is lower.

The primary means of the virus’ transmission appears to be through entries to the respiratory system, especially the nose and mouth. We have therefore decided to implement these short-term protocols at Schmitt Orthodontics and will postpone all appointments. We will make decisions for the following weeks as the circumstances unfold. We believe this is the responsible thing to do to prevent further spread and minimize the burden on the medical community.

We are always here for emergencies, of course, and you can contact us in the normal way with any questions you have.
