Today was Dr. Young's official first day seeing patients at Giardina Orthodontics, and we couldn't be more excited! 💚✨

Dr. Young has already been such a wonderful addition to our team. Her warmth, positivity, and passion for orthodontics make her a perfect fit for our practice, and we know our patients and families are going to love getting to know her.

Meet Violet! 👋

When Violet came to us, she had a narrow upper jaw with upper teeth tipped inward, a 50% overbite, her lower midline was shifted 2mm to the left, delayed eruption of permanent teeth, and an anterior tongue posture.

🎉 Best Weekend Ever 2026 was exactly that... the BEST weekend ever! 💚

We loved spending time with our amazing Shenandoah Valley community, meeting new faces, catching up with familiar ones, and being part of such an incredible event.

✨ The secret is finally out... Please help us welcome Dr. Mylan Young to Giardina Orthodontics! 💚

As our practice continues to grow, Dr. Giardina spent a great deal of time searching for the right orthodontist to join our team. Bringing on a second doctor allows us to serve more patients, offer greater scheduling flexibility, and continue providing the personalized, high quality care that has always been at the heart of our practice.

Dr. Young is a Virginia native who earned her Biology degree from George Mason University before receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated at the top of her class with a 4.0 GPA and Honors. She then completed her orthodontic residency and earned her Master's of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Michigan.

Beyond her impressive academic achievements, Dr. Young is passionate about serving others. She helped co-found a mobile dental clinic that provided free dental care to underserved communities and has dedicated much of her career to making dental care more accessible for those in need.

When she's not creating beautiful smiles, you'll find her dancing, baking, creating art, playing the piano, spending time with family and friends, or spoiling her adorable Poochon pup.

Dr. Young will officially begin seeing patients at Giardina Orthodontics on June 22, and she is excited to be back home in Virginia and become part of the Harrisonburg community. We are thrilled to have her as part of the Giardina Orthodontics family and know you're going to love her just as much as we do. ✨

When Finn came to our office, he had some lower crowding, a 3mm gap between his front teeth, flared lower incisors, and increased overbite.

▫️Upper and lower fixed retainers, along with clear retainers, to help maintain his result long term

One of the most noticeable changes is the closure of the gap between his front teeth. While spacing like this can often be the first thing patients notice about their smile, it is important to identify and address the underlying issues as well. By correcting Finn’s bite, improving tooth position, and creating proper alignment, we were able to close the space and create a more balanced, healthy, and confident smile.
