After a major implant procedure, your new implants need time to heal, which means your diet will look a little different for a while.

For many full-arch patients, that means sticking to softer foods and avoiding heavy chewing during the healing period. It may take some creativity (and patience!), but this phase is temporary and plays an important role in protecting your new implants.

The goal? Giving everything the time it needs to heal so you can get back to enjoying the foods you love.

Being told you don’t have enough bone for dental implants doesn’t always mean you’ve run out of options.

For some patients with significant bone loss in the upper jaw, zygomatic implants may be an alternative to extensive bone grafting. Rather than being anchored in the upper jaw, these specialized implants are secured in the cheekbone, which provides strong, stable support for a full-arch restoration.

This patient was missing all of their upper teeth and underwent a full-arch restoration using zygomatic implants, a specialized type of dental implant used when there isn’t enough bone in the upper jaw for traditional implants.

Because this type of treatment requires several months of healing, the patient leaves with a temporary fixed set of teeth while the implants heal and integrate with the bone. Once healing is complete, the temporary teeth will be replaced with a custom final restoration.
