The National Dental Association released a statement on June 3rd. We support the NDA. Please read NDA’s statement: https://conta.cc/2BtbiJu Each organization has similar messages around this important social justice issue, and our organizations, the NDA, AAWD, ADA, HDA, and SAID stand united on “Together, We Heal” to end racial inequality in America.

All organizations belong to the Diversity Summit Presidents’ Group (DSPG), which meets throughout the year to promote dialogue. The DSPG also hosts an annual education program and collaborates on other special initiatives.

ROUTINE CARE APPOINTMENTS WILL RESUME 5/1/20.

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the
last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many
things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits
to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and
comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep
patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new
rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are
current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help
protect our patients and staff. For example:

 Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked
those same questions again when you are in the office.

 We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.

 You may see that our waiting room no longer offers magazines since those items are difficult to clean
and disinfect.

 You may see limited seating in our waiting areas to ensure social distancing. If no seating is available,
you can wait in your car and we will call you when we are ready for you.

 Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This may mean there
may be fewer appointment options for scheduling your appointment.

 We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to
reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we
take to keep you and every patient safe in our practice.

To make an appointment, please call our office at
956-428-8081.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our
patients, neighbors and friends,

Dr. Damien Garcia and Team

Update 4/22/20

The Texas Dental Board, CDC and Governor Abbott have provided updated guidance and recommendations to health care providers during this coronavirus pandemic. Currently they have advised that only essential dental procedures be performed to minimize potential transmission of COVID-19 and to help conserve personal protective gear for healthcare providers who are caring for those with COVID-19 until May 8th, 2020.

Our new reopen date will be Saturday May 9th.

Our goal is to provide a safe and protected environment every time you visit or office and we will continue to follow recommendations set forth by the Texas Dental Board as well as our state and local officials. Your health and well-being are our highest priorities.

Call and schedule your appointments now to avoid any delay in your treatment.

Based on communications with our patients, we continue to expect that our schedule will fill up quickly.

And remember, we are always here to handle your dental emergencies.

To the patients of GARCIA FAMILY DENTISTRY:

Things have been changing very rapidly with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the US. We have been closely monitoring and making changes along the way, as we take very seriously our responsibility to help care for and protect our employees, our patients and their families.

After Friday 3/20/20, we will be limiting our office hours and cancelling all appointments for elective dental care. Please expect a phone call from our office to reschedule any appointment you may already have set up during this time.

Our office will be open to see emergency patients only. Please call our office prior to your emergency visit to discuss your particular needs.

Please be assured there will be someone answering all phone calls to our office every day from 8am-5pm during this time.

We would like to reassure you that we are taking these necessary measures to protect your health and safety. We will continue to assess the situation in the weeks ahead and update you all as soon as we know when our office will be back to normal operations and hours.

Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.
