🌸 Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸

Today we’re celebrating the amazing superhero moms who do it all — from finding lost shoes to reminding everyone (at least once) to brush and floss! 🦷😉

From all of us at A2Z Family Dental, thank you for everything you do to keep your families healthy and smiling. You truly are the reason behind so many beautiful smiles — and not just because you schedule the dental appointments! 😄

💐 Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter, and maybe even a little time to relax.

🦷 Dental Myths: Let’s Separate Tooth‑Fiction from Tooth‑Facts:

Teeth have been misunderstood for generations. From well‑meaning relatives to the internet’s “expert opinions,” dental myths spread faster than plaque after a missed floss. Some sound logical, some are hilarious, and some quietly sabotage your smile. Before your teeth roll their eyes again, let’s bust a few of the most common dental myths—because your mouth deserves facts, not fairy tales. 😄

Common Dental Myths & Facts:

Myth: If your teeth don’t hurt, they’re healthy
- Fact: Many dental problems (cavities, gum disease) don’t cause pain in early stages.

Myth: Brushing harder cleans teeth better
- Fact: Brushing too hard can damage enamel and irritate gums; gentle brushing is best.

Myth: Sugar is the only cause of cavities
- Fact: Cavities are caused by acid from bacteria—starches and frequent snacking can also contribute.

Myth: Baby teeth aren’t important because they fall out
- Fact: Baby teeth affect speech, nutrition, and guide permanent teeth.

Myth: If gums bleed, stop brushing there
- Fact: Bleeding usually means inflammation; consistent gentle brushing and flossing are needed.

Myth: Flossing isn’t necessary if you brush well
- Fact: Brushing alone doesn’t clean between teeth—flossing removes plaque brushing can’t.

Myth: Whitening damages your teeth
- Fact: Professionally supervised whitening is safe when done correctly.

Myth: Bad breath always means poor oral hygiene
- Fact: It can also be caused by dry mouth, medications, or medical conditions.

Myth: You only need to see a dentist if there’s a problem
- Fact: Regular checkups prevent problems and catch issues early.

Myth: Dental X‑rays are dangerous
- Fact: Modern digital X‑rays use very low radiation and are considered safe.

Myth: Gum disease only affects the mouth
- Fact: It’s linked to systemic conditions like heart disease and diabetes.

Myth: Teeth naturally weaken with age
- Fact: With proper care, teeth can last a lifetime.

Myth: Mouthwash can replace brushing and flossing
- Fact: Mouthwash is an aid—not a substitute.

Myth: All dentists are the same
- Fact: Dentists have different training areas, experience, and specialties.

Myth: White teeth are always healthy teeth
- Fact: Teeth can look white yet still have decay or gum disease.

👉Moral of the story:
Don’t believe everything your neighbor, internet, or uncle says about teeth.
Trust science. Trust your dentist. Floss anyway

Think you know everything about your teeth? Some dental “facts” might actually be myths in disguise!

Book an appointment with us to learn the truth behind common dental myths, protect your smile, and give it the spring glow‑up it deserves.

Persistent bad breath is more than a cosmetic concern — it can be an early indicator of underlying oral or systemic health issues.
Conditions such as gum disease, oral infections, dry mouth, and uncontrolled medical conditions can all contribute to chronic halitosis.

At A2Z Dental, we focus on identifying the root cause and protecting both your oral health and overall, well‑being. If you are experiencing ongoing bad breath, a comprehensive dental evaluation is recommended.

🦷 Your health starts with your mouth. So remember to call us at (630) 837-4080 to schedule your visit today and we are ready to help.

🪺🦢 New “Patients” at A2Z Family Dental! 🦷😄

Looks like we’ve been goose-chosen! A mama goose has decided that the entrance to our parking lot is the perfect place to hatch her nest. While we don’t usually accept walk-ins without appointments, we’re happy to welcome this special guest.
💛🌿

Mama goose is currently in her incubation period and if all goes well, hatching may take place in the next 2–3 weeks—an exciting (and temporary) visit from nature! 💛

Because the nest is very close to the main road intersection of Irving Park Road and near Barrington Road, safety is especially important—for our patients, pedestrians, and our feathered neighbor.

We love seeing nature stop by—but to keep everyone safe (humans and geese alike), we kindly ask our patients and visitors to take a few simple precautions:

🦆 Drive slowly when entering and exiting the parking lot
🦆 Give mama goose her personal space—she’s very protective
🦆 No autographs, selfies, or feeding attempts (she’s not a fan)
🦆 Please keep children close and supervised
🦆 Avoid loud noises or sudden movements near the nest.

With a little patience and care, we can make this a safe and peaceful environment for our temporary feathered neighbor—and for our patients coming in for their smiles. 😁

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
