"Sticky Bone": Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) allows us to create so called "sticky bone" to incorporate into some of our surgical procedures. Not only is the PRF flooding the site with the patient's own white blood cells, growth factors, etc, it also adds stability to our grafts as you can see here.

There are 3 components that make up what we refer to as an implant: the implant itself, the abutment (piece that engages the implant) and the crown (tooth). After implant placement and healing, we digitally contour the abutment and design the crown in order to create a natural appearing tooth with proper function.

In order for an implant to have long term stability it needs to have a certain length which requires the appropriate height of the bone. In some instances the bone height is not sufficient. This is a conebeam CT of an implant that was placed with a crestal sinus lift. The "dome shape" around the implant is evidence of a successful lift. The sinus membrane is displaced upwards in order to "grow" bone around the implant without perforation into the space. These images were taken day of surgery and after 4 months of healing.
