ATTENTION! Dr. Tritle here! We have finally gotten clarification about recommendations for dental care in a community based setting. These decisions were made by Governor DeWine, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Ohio State Dental Board.
GOOD NEWS: We are not closing and our hours will remain the same. We have been advised of the following:
Rescheduling elective procedures due to
- Cosmetics (Veneers, bonding)
- Extractions of asymptomatic, non-diseased teeth
- Routine hygiene visits for patients that are periodontally "healthy"
- High risk patients with health issues and/or are in an immunocompromised state.
- Cosmetic surgery to the gum tissue.
- Orthodontic Visits
Some in office adjustments that we are making to our already strict disinfection/sterilization protocols are:
- Limit access to waiting room use to only patients. Accompanying individuals have to wait in their respective transportation.
- Remove all magazines/toys etc from waiting area to prevent contamination.
- Having patients wait in their cars instead of the waiting areas (call/text patient when room is ready for treatment)
- Taking the temperature of the patient
- Having a detailed conversation before scheduling appointments and prior to any procedure about flu like symptoms, travel abroad for self and family/friends/co-workers etc. to permit a thorough evaluation.
- Use of 1% hydrogen peroxide rinse prior to examination of the oral cavity by the patient to reduce microbial load.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
If you are in PAIN, have INFECTION, SWELLING, SYMPTOMS of discomfort, FRACTURED teeth, non-healthy gum tissues, need a root canal, extraction, coverage of a broken tooth, advancing decay, etc- We can see you and treat you!
We will be contacting everyone scheduled for care with us on a case-by-case basis to discuss any changes that need to be made in your appointment. We will do the best we can to accommodate the schedule of our valued patients. Your health and well being is our number one priority.
Thank you in advance!
