When can my child brush their teeth on their own? This is a question we get often at Robbinsville Pediatric Dentist. You should supervise your child’s brushing until they can spit out toothpaste instead of swallowing it, around age 6 or 7. However, they may still need supervision and guidance until they're around 10 or 11 to ensure they're brushing properly and consistently.
